Question

Tail servo at hobbycity.com. Recommendation?

I am going to buy some stuff from hobbycity.com soon. One of them I am considering is a 'tail servo'. Could you recommend a good tail servo in hobbycity.com? Of course, with similar performance, cheaper is better.

Currently, I am using 'hitec 56HB' in tail of the SJM400. It seems the tail is not solid... I am not sure whether it is because of the servo or not. However, I am going to try. The gyro is a 'telebee'.

Thanks.

My only comment is that it's not the servo that's causing your tail to be not solid.. I have a Blade 400 and a Futaba 401 gyro and a HB65 on the tail an it's a ROCK!

BUT... I am interested in this same question since I still want a more tail designed servo for my heli as I am will be getting into more 3D stuff next summer.

I have two gyros, Futaba GY401 and Telebee.

I am using the GY401 in my HBFP. SJM400 has the 'Telebee'. I know I have to swap the gyros. However, if I use the telebee in my HBFP, the tail is wagging. With the telebee, I need to upgrade the tail to direct drive which I don't want to do. With the GY401, the HBFP tail is solid with stock tail setup.

Now, the SJM400 has 'Telebee'. I heard many times in this rcgroup that Telebee gryo is solid in T-tex 450. It should work well with SJM400 too. However, I have a tail wagging problem with this gyro. That's why I am trying to change the servo.

Complicated...right?

The GWS Park HPX servo works nicely for me on my Blade 400 w/ stock G110 gyro.
Size: 30.86x16.17x28.5
Weight: 19g
Speed: (4.8v: 0.07sec)(6v: 0.05sec)
Torque: (4.8v: 3kg)(6v: 3.6kg)
Price: $12.35

Fast and strong, if a bit heavy. You'll need to boom mount it, more than likely.

Have this servo with a Logictech 2100t and it is awesome. Price is double what it used to be though.

I agree, i think he needs to try some other things. Move the linkage around on the holes in rate mode and readjust the gain.

What i find is when i use a hole on the servo horn close to the horn mounting screw i need alot more gain like 70-80% when i move it out further from the screw i need less gain.

The servo Kiteman linked to is probably a clone of the logitech servo. I know first hand the LT servo holds very well. Put the 401 on the SJM and get a decent servo (used 9650 is a good canidate)

Whoa, it did more than double! I bought one a couple weeks ago for like $19. So far I am liking it in my Dragonus.

If you log in the price will be much better.

The HG servos are probably the best servos HC sells.

Your Telebee is the weak link. Keep the HS56HB and change the gyro instead. There are better gyros out there...
