It does look great, but be careful with the sun and the blacked out canopies, they will melt Now I am doing 2 or 3 light coats of tint, they look great and I hope the sun does not bother them.

Hey Guys, where have you been putting your Rx's? I will be using a Spektrum AR500.

Thanks

I would love to but we have a couple friends coming over for burgers today so I would not have time to make it

And since we are pulling out Wednesday I need to get the motor home organized and packed for the ride north, so I think if we are going to get a chance to fly together before I return to Florida in the fall you will have to come to SEFF

Thanks Guys, I am just concerned about all the servo wires getting near the pull pull cables.

Years ago I had a wire get caught in a servo and it hot unplugged, which is why I am so paranoid about getting the installation as clean as I can. You can see I've got everything tucked under the servo tray. I would have liked to secure it all with a wire tie, but you can't get at it. Do your best to tuck it all under there, and secure it if you can.

This is the only part of the Edge 540 that gives me any consern at all. I think if I build enough of them I will eventually figure it out and get it perfect. I'm almost never happy with a radio installation anyway, but this way is pretty good.

I have 2 questions about the possible Rx location in the picture.

1) Would this antenna placement be OK or could there be interference from the CF Wing tube?

B) Could this Rx location be a CG issue?

Thanks
Rob

Knock on wood...2 years and hundreds of installs later, we've *never* had interference on any 2.4gHz setup...even when the Rx was tied to the carbon tube.

Ok the little 103g Omega really puts out ! Kinda reminds me of a Havoc heli ,the power is really touchy at first but then the top fades and your all set. It does get a little warm at the Bell so I give it a min. before the next flight.
Well since the 2500mah Xcites are all the way foward I think Ill just stick with them . The little Omega is going to tax the PL's anyway so no need to add weight just for them.

Sweet little motor , Im hoping it will last a bit . I may just go ahead and pick up a 130g for for my EF Yak as the 103 has such great throttle response and smooooooth .

Your Omega should last you a good bit. The bulk of the investment is made into the bearing and winding, which is the point of failure in bad motors.
