Need help with Aiptek wiring harness for FPV & flight recording

I picked up an Aiptek MPVR on clearance at Target this week, and I'd like to use it as my onboard flight recorder as well as my actual FPV camera. I know several people have used this camera for the same purpose, but I am at a loss on how to make a wiring harness for this rig.

Before I start cutting into the wires that came with the camera (phono to RCA video (yellow), audio (red and white)), I'm wondering if it's possible to make a new harness so that I can preserve the original in case I need it for later.

What I need to do is go from the TV Out (phono) on the MPVR, to my video Tx, which has got a funky balancing tap looking connector. So what I think I need is a phono to something wiring harness that will contain the video and audio feed to the video Tx. To make matters more complicated, I need to somehow get power to the video Tx as well.

My goal is to make the lightest, simplist harness as possible and minimize having to use multiple adapters. Has anyone done this, and if so are there any pictures available?

As a side note, I'm also interested in removing the LCD display off the MPVR to lighten the load. I've searched these forums and google to find a good how-to guide, but haven't had any luck. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks for the help!

For whatever it's worth though, calling the MPVR+'s actual camera
crap, would be too kind. Some people are working on flying
through the Aiptek HDs, but no-one has ever flown through
an MPVR+. Don't bother.

Daemon - really? Dang it! Well actually, let me ask you this then... would the 720p be any better? I'm flying through a cheapy ccd camera board from electromavin right now, and it does an OK job. I was hoping the MPVR would be a bit better than the ccd board.

Cameras are EVERYWHERE...

The MPVR works well as a ground recording device, so if you already have one you should hang on to it.

Daemon, what is it that makes the MPVR unacceptable for FPV?

It's just a dreadful camera, with poor light handling, and slow CMOS sensor.
You see the wobbles in the HD version sometime, but that's much faster.
With slow CMOS refresh rate the wobbles are just unacceptable.

And yes, as a recording device on the ground, the MPVR+ is great.
Best bang for the buck in solid state recording devices.
That's the only reason to buy one, as far as I'm concerned.
