How do I stop the prop parallel to the fuselage sides?

Me Again !! Thanks for all your help so far. Real newbie ???? here.

How do I stop the folding prop so that it is parallel to the fuselage sides, like I see in all the photos of electric sailplanes.

My thought is that when the motor (AXI 2820/10) is stopped after the first start up, simply loosen the prop and rotate it so that it is lined up where you want it.

Will the motor stop in the same position every time? You may want to also look at my post regarding settin up my TMM speed control.

It won't stop in the same place each time. Why does it matter where it stops?

Makes no difference. Go fly instead of worrying.

I use a prop-stopper on my Tempest MK II. My Mk V has been using the same prop for 3 years, as the chin scoop allow it to land with the prop turning with no damage.

It is just a micro-servo in the cowling, with a length of nyrod that projects out into the prop's arc to stop it where I want it. It saves me props on belly-landing.

You have to make sure that the motor is turned off before you kit the retracts switch, though!

Single-task at best...

It doesn't matter where the prop stops initially.

I have a theory that if the prop stops with the blades vertical, then the bottom blade will tend to hang down, and then get moved by the passing air until it can fold easily ie., when horizontal.

Then again, I could be talking nonsense.
