Joe is one amazing pilot. He and his parents are really neat. I met them at the JR Indoor. They have done just about everything to make sure Joe keeps his head screwed on straight and Joe flying is unreal. I don't think I have ever seen a young man with his skills. I know a couple of others that are close to Joe, but Joe is somebody to watch.

Have fun Dag, you are getting close to the end of this build.
The whole thing, this build has been an odyssey for you.

That goes straight to a heli guy's heart. Very good to see progress on my favorite fixie despite your punishing schedule. Makes me want to travel to the midwest to see it fly and meet your august self, and other dedicated RC'ers that I will otherwise only know remotely on RCG.

Not only am I 3 or 4 hours behind you but I also work the "swing shift". So I also wake about 6 hours after "day shift" folks like you. So that puts my whole life 9 or 10 hours behind yours... Basically, you wake just before my bedtime. I know, weird huh? Doesnt matter what time you wake or sleep. Still aint enuf hours in each day. One thing I know for sure though... I can only fly like Joe while sleeping! (Tx & nitro fuel sitting on nitestand) hehe Thanks for posting Joe's flight. That was kewl. Its just the kind of flying that gives youngins the itch to take up RC and 3D.

Dag will be back soon. His work has taken him away from both projects and then a short derail while he helped his project manager, Emma with a science project, she got an A++ if I read his post right, so soon we will see more progress on both projects.

Got more done on the RX systems and where all the mess of wires go. Its been real cold here and just warmed up a bit yesterday. My garage is not heated so I have to use a huge space heater to make it bearable. I have also been working on the Emmaselle II which is in my basement (much warmer). And yesterday got to 55 here so my girl and I got the dirt bikes out for one last time this year.

I am very close to closing up the wings and fuse with the final sheeting. And then on to the finishing of the jet pod system.

Hi Dag,
I'm curious on how you ran your wires. Are they bundled together or is each length of wire seperate? Do you have any pics of the wire runds?

PS Oh and on the temps....it's going to be cold here in SoCal not even going to get into the sixtys today....buuurrrrrrrr.

Yeah...don't your fingers get really cold when it's 55 degrees out?? Mine do!!!

I hear ya Steve T,...it's horrible...!

Still trying to wrap my head around all the wires that must be in Dag's B-36!
They probably weigh more than my plane's total weight.

Hey all,

I will take some pictures later this week. Have to be honest that this has been the hardest part of the build. I am trying so hard to keep the set up where I have a RX in each wing, and 2 in the fuse. But the shear number of servos, the wiring, the y-harnesses, batteries, battery holders, and connections are mind blowing. Weight is everything and keeping the number or wires, their lengths are crazy.

I may build big in the future, but never anything like this, until it flies and then I will go bigger.

I am also going to take another few weeks off from the 36 to get my EII done, and get my mold made for my H-34.

Sorry I'm so late to chime in, but the signal wire is the only unique wire from the receiver to each individual servo that needs to be separated in the bundles. You could have run one larger gauge positive and one larger gauge negative lead for all the servos in each receiver bundle and just tapped off the + and - at each servo location. If the weight were really critical, you could have even reduced the gauge of the + and - leads after every 2 or 3 servo taps till the last run was just a normal servo extension lead. I know it's probably too late for the 36, but you might want to try some experiments before you wire the H-34.
