Well......... Unless that scale model is designed to fly like Mac's does. If you will look back in this thread about 10,000 bazillion pics ago you will see where I took video from Macs plane coming apart and you can clearly see it was not a over-stressing of the airframe, but the fact Mac had forgot to put the wing bolts in. When I took the video frame by frame and enhanced it you can clearly see the wing sliding off the wing tubes.

Ok, I decided to attach my pics......... Mac rocks, as well as his aerobatic B-29.

Macs plane flies like it was designed too.

I remember the post-mortem on that particular crash...... one reason for having a check-list and a place where all of the wing bolts stay when not on the plane.

However, considering the flight regimen that Mac flies, the old quote from Chuck Yeger comes to mind -- the one about old, bold pilots. Of course, everyone remembers the crashes, but not the hundreds of spectacular flights that Mac's put in over the years.

I have to admire Mac's reaction to both of these incidents... not a sign of anger or frustration. A comensurate showman -- it happens, time to build another one......

The B29 crashes are spectacular but don't impress me. I prefer for a B29 to fly like a B29 and a B36 to fly like a B36. If I want to watch aerobatics, I prefere to watch a Pitts Special or PT17. I also prefere to watch a scale CONTEST instead of a socalled flyin.

I believe the second and third video are the same flight just from a different camera angle.

Saw the SEFF videos of his show and was quite entertaining.

Robert, you are most likely correct. I just wanted to show that Mac, has had some incidents over the years.

Flying scale is an art form, just like 3D and all the other different areas of RC.

I am sure that Dag will fly the B-36 as scale as he can, I am sure that it will take a whole lot of concentration the first few flights, yet Dag's ability is unquestioned in my mind.

One of the best videos are the ones of the Emmaselle at SEFF this year. That is a cool plane.

byrocat: Mac's ability to entertain is commensurate with the requirements of the occasion, so he is a consummate showman.

Actually, Macs Aircraft is on its 3rd or 4th iteration from various crashes over the years... He does fly it to impress and amaze fans (and I'm one of them)
I have had the fortune to speak with him one-on-one and even heft that 100 lb.. monster off the work tables.. and a nicer, friendlier, guy you won't find anywhere!!! ( as is Damon BTW!!)
Also one BIG advantage Mac has over Dag.. he has a whole staff that helps Build, repair, and maintain that ship... Dag..has Emma!!!

Actually Emma gets the work of 15 guys done pretty well.

Hey all.... I am in Vegas until Friday in meetings, no B-36 this week.

I am however just about done with what I think my radio system will look like. I will post the schematics and risers this weekend.

Thanks, DAG

Hey all,

Wow did I have a great business trip last week. Worked my guts out, but was well worth it......

I did get the B-36 flipped back over late yesterday, and hope to actually get some work done this week, but will not be a lot as I am really slammed again. I have a few pics I will post later tonight.

Rock ON!!!!!!!

Glad you are still employed and making bucks to support the family and your hobby.

The videos of the Emmaselle at SEFF are just great to watch. Can't tell you how many times I have watched them. What a great airframe you designed and I am sure that this B-36 will be spectacular.

Soon you will be finishing her up.

Orrin - The detail on that plane is really something. To see it first hand is , uhm, I'm not finding the words. Hand stitching? No wonder he won best in show when he brought it down in '10 !!!
