Wanna have some fun???

I went to one of the local party stores and bought some of the siren whistles...8 for 79 cents.
I double tapped one on each side of the underwing of my omega....sorta like MD-11 engines.
WOW!
Ya don't have to worry about losing site of your bird....just open your ears.
Most of my cronies said YOU HAVE FLUTTER! Land now!
A split S after a good climb and back down for a low pass sounds unreal.
I don't want it all the time, so I can just pull them off when I want.
I may have too much time on my hands. huh?

A couple of those on the leg pants of a Stuka would be kinda kewl... Especially if there were some finely tuned little blow down flaps in front of them so they only whistle in a screaming attack dive......

that's a cool, idea ... But mine already sounds like a COW, I'm ashame of flying my The Odyssey, because of it's loud, cow like sound ... The guys that fly's sailplanes told me, that Sail flying used supposed to be a nice, quite sport, until I joined in their fun

-- But I want one of those How small are they?

stall alarm

i knew of a guy [knew] of a guy that used to fly with a pop bottle taped to his strut that was just at the right angle so that it would whistle just before a stall,,it sounded like an alright idea but i dont know why he didnt just listen to the wind on the wing,,,seems better suited for rc though????

anyone ever try that for a student??

whistles

The whistles are about 1.5" long and the diameter of a penny.
They weigh almost nothing.

We occasionally will get a guy on the slope who straps a whistle to his Zagi (or whatever) and it's funny for about one second. Then it just gets annoying. But in slope flying the planes are closer more often so the annoy factor is much greater. Besides, the whistle prevents us from hearing our own planes make that whoooshing sound as it's hauling butt

We do not have the problem of being too crowded.
Our club is on 40 acres of manicured bermuda grass (sod farm)
There are no obsticles around.
We usually speck out and heard only when we decide to play at a lower altitude.
Our club only has about 10 members. I have never seen more than 3 airplanes in the air at one time...That is rare.
The downside to this absolute perfect field is dues are $5 annually.

I fly for free but the slopes in Southern California looks more like the surface of Mars so having a 40 acre sod farm for a landing zone would be the holy grail for us.

10 members, 40 acres manicured land, no more than 3 planes.... That's almost criminal! You wouldn't happen to fly near Baltimore?
