Escape? ESC? ESCAPE?? When did this happen?

Rant on...

Why are you guys calling the ESC the ESCAPE?

It's an ESC.. Eee-Esss-See..

Or perhaps.. Speed Controller.. Or Electronic Speed Controller..

It's not an ESCAPE!

Ugh.. Pet peeves.. I found one...

Actuallllly Mark.. I didn't want to throw it all over the one guy who said it most recently so I started a new thread..

100% on purposely..

Oohh, while you're reading this, do the Lipo sacks still carry the "if you burn them, you get a new one free, thing?"

I just tested on out.. It was.. exciting..

On a side note.. I am now calling the RX the prescription...

Yep, im with ya on that, and I'd like to see the industry change it to ETC(Electronic Throttle Control) rather than use the word "speed" in it.
For obvious reasons, as beginners can easily mistake it for controling the plane's speed rather than the motor speed.

Now I can hear everyone calling it the "etcetera" control.

Yeah, that's probably true. Say, can you write me a "script?" My receiver is acting up.

"In 1964 Kraft and Controlaire began offering transistorized receiver kits. They were small, light, and, best of all, cheap. The local hobby shop sponsored a contest for the Jasco Thermic 50 and similar gliders using the new receivers and powered by a Cox Peewee 02 reed valve engine. The complete model including receiver, engine, and escapement could be built for less that $25. You didn't even need to own a transmitter since the receivers were all on the same frequency and it was easy to borrow one."
