My stock spinner failed when the pin holding the blade in sheared through the plastic. I replaced it with the Multiplex spinner and have never looked back.

I'm fairly sure that loud sound occurs when the blades smack against the stops when you quickly apply full throttle. This will likely put stress on the plastic around the pins, leading to failure. Solution: get a spinner that lets the prop blades swing forward instead of hitting hard stops; or, just be light on the throttle.

Part number M733500. For example:

Get some better blades while you're at it. 11x6 enables truly vertical takeoff.

That's what I have always thought.

I have wondered about the stops and why they are there. Couldn't a person cut the white plastic back so there would be no knocking? What purpose do the stops serve?

I've wondered the same thing myself.

i have broken more spinners in the last month (2) than the previous year and a half- I wonder if QC has slipped on the _1_1 prop? or the spinner? last week a new spinner and prop broke in flight and shook the wings out of the saddle at altitude- luckily the fuse fell into a river and almost no damage resulted... electronics dried out and a new prop was procured and all seems fine..

ok. so please tell me which props you have tried and fit in the 50mm alum spinner.
that will let me get them, knowing that are good fit.
does the stock prop fits the al spinner?
hole diameter, gap. without having to do anything.
regards

Rhett, I think you just blew a lot of Americans vision of your country. Many think of it as rocks, roos, snakes, and big things along the coast that eat you. Green fields, who would have thunk it. LOL
