I have not had much luck with tape. But then again, I have only tried it once and that was a long time ago. I may have several rolls of colored tape laying around. If it is still good, that is what I will use. Joe |

My plotter chopped off the bottom inch or so when it printed. If I can get the exact length, I can locate that back edge and continue the lines to meet it. Thanks, Joe |

Walt,
An LHS is your best bet for 6mm depron, and I think back east is the only place you'll find bluecor anymore (they don't seem to sell it out west anymore). If all else fails, there's Elmer's foamboard that you can find at most craft stores (Michael's, Jo-Ann's, Hobby Lobby, etc), but you'll have to soak it and remove the paper covering. You could also order depron stock from RCFoam.com, but then you'll have to wait for delivery. I got a case of 6mm white from them, 20 sheets in all. Pat |

the new Lacey Lowes had some ( accidentaly)
probably gone by now - that was a month ago ! The Lowes in Hillsboro ORegon has some - I got a bundle last weekend ! Canyon Dr out by the airport I have some depron too. Theres always RCFOAM.COM ! NEWS FLASH ! you can IRON tape just like monocote !!! I've been trying it on a foamy Sloper build just today. Pat the PDF has Vector in it ! You could import it into if your cad takes pdf's , MIne does :-) Then you could just laser it out :-) Or machine it like I will |

Steve
Great vid showing how this baby flies! thanks for the plans too. I'm not familiar with depron sheet sizes, it looks like 15X30" is how it comes? Did you have to join two sheets together to make the wing? Also are the cf rod and thin ply stringers inlet into the foam? Paul |

Paul,
The depron sheets I get are about 27X39". It usually takes me two sheets or less to cut out one of these types of planes. This one looks like a lot less foam than Steve's usual stuff. I might be able to make this out of one sheet, plus some scraps I have lying around. Quote:

Pat: whadayamean FUN !?!?! :-)
All those notches in the Pusher jets - wheeew ! plus making templates adn printing yada yada yada If I didnt have my CNC I'd have bagged the whole bunch of em . ok ok ok everyone has their own version of "fun" . It s a great hobby no mater how you "Get There". I like sitting at the computer and laying out the parts for the most material efficiency. Then cutting , then the whole thing just falls together. Depron comes in 13x39 white and 15 x 39 black from rcfoam.com unless you want to pay BIG shipping costs. If you want bigger just glue some together on their edges. Thats a plus for the FFF blue core guys who get 24" x 48" times 25 sheets / bundle. For a really NICE build Depron is the "Choice material" ! Blue is, IMHO, for lesser or low budget projects. As it is I have both and the cost of MORE servos. Rx's, ESC's, etc etc is running me out of resources. Cheap foam or not ! But , still , this Northstar project is a worth while project regardless. |
