Construction Guide Now Available

For those that are interested, I just finished creating a PDF construction guide for the Polaris and posted it in Post #3 of this thread alongside the plans. This guide is based on the one I'm developing for the upcoming kit, but shows the specific build steps for the original scratchbuild version.

hh! So you are the designer!
Here some better picture on my VTO.
That's great, Tomas! I still fly my VTO regularly, and I think it will always be one of my all-time favorite RC models. I'm especially thrilled to see the VTO flying in Sweden!

I'll second Pat's recommendation--the aux spars really are necessary. The aux spars aren't really there for strength, they're there for stiffness. Without them, the leading edge of this big foam wing will bend easily, which could affect flight characteristics (especially at high speeds). Besides, the ply spars are very easy and quick to install.

Great build guide!! thanks a bunch.

I think the 75% would be great for a liter power system, say a 1700 BW, Or something that will swing a 5" prop?

I may try the smaller version.

Thanks again

Maybe I can help. You didn't say if you wanted letter or A4 format so here are both.

It looks like Bill Segraves program ScaleAndTile3 . A free program that you can scale and tile just about anything in.

Hello all, just a quick update on my build. It was put on hold last week as I was trying to tweak my new GWS A-4 (which was already in progress when I started the Polaris). Now that it's off the table and complete, it's time to get back to this one. I plan to at least have construction done for a maiden flight this weekend. It may be all white, or I may be able to get some color on it. We'll see how construction goes the next few days.

Yes it is Bill Segraves program ScaleAndTile3. Wonderful program. A modeler without it is very handicapped.
