pwu1,

The Eva Sport has more stability than the Flashback. For casual flying this is a good thing but for pattern flying, this is a bad thing. The Flashback will do exactly what you tell it to so you have to fly it all the time. Personally, I prefer the Flashback. It will knife edge easily and is a great plane to learn pattern flying.

Mountain Models Floats?

Quick question...

Has MM ever thought about making float kits available?

Why yes, we have. I might even have a couple sizes of built-up balsa and foam floats drawn up. Of course, I haven't had time to test them yet though.

Time always gets in the way doesn't it?

I am in the process of my first build...the Dandy and was thinking about making it a float plane. I figure that way I could fly it off the snow this winter as well once the water freezes over.

I saw some plans for some simple floats made out of foam insulation but thought it would be neat if MM made sets specifically designed for some of your planes.

Which shall it be, Passworthy?
Is there a "home thread" for the EZ series? I have a couple of questions about the EZ Scout.

Dave,

This one is the main EZ Series thread: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=752214

The EZ Scout is now my favorite small plane for most situations. We'll see (perhaps) how it does on skis later this winter, and floats in the spring, perhaps..... (especially if purpose made floats become available).

Oh, i don't have one yet! But as you can see, (and as I had forgotten), skypileit, I had posted in that other thread. It seemed to be focused on the low wing scout, however, hence my question.

Thanks, BEC -- the thread's title confused me, as it references the Sport. But it looks like I've attracted an appropriate audience.

Electric glider

I realize gliders might not be your biggest seller. But I believe there is a market for an electric glider. Most of the gliders on the electric glider forum are modified sailplanes. It would be good to have an electric with plans, and a recommended motor,to take the fabrication and guess work out.

Crowfly, the three channel Dandy was designed as a small motor glider. It won't thermal really well, but it is easy to build and fly. Were you suggesting something larger, i.e. 2 meter-ish?

Out to fly my SB Sr. with an AXi 2814/20 in it. Looking to have LOTS of fun.....

Added later: Yes - definitely lots of fun - having just a bit more prop is definitely worthwhile. I need to try a 13x6.5 next. The motor windings barely got above 100 degrees F with the 12x6.

Also, I was test fitting a soon-to-be-available from Fiberglass Specialities fiberglass replacement cowl for the SB Sr. See the picture for an "in the raw" look.
