Trust me the slot is there. If you can't see it clearly you will definitely be able to feel it from the other side. It makes no difference either which side you decide to mount servos. You can do both on the left, both on the right, one on each side. It won't affect how the plane flies, its all aesthetics. |

Here i'll post it with some lovely arrows and text to help you out. Who knows maybe they changed the design slightly since you got yours Demon. |

Exactly and when you open the image right up, it appears to be an actual joint. So rather than a one piece Elevator LE they have split it and joined it where the slot would be. The joint line is in a slightly different position and shape to the slot, so it's not a slot in hiding.

I'm just saying, based on the photos it looks blocked. Only ChinoDiablo can tell us what's under there. ChinoDiablo, can you confirm whether the other slot is actually blocked or is just obscured by a thin strip of balsa? |

This is what the wood is cut like.

I had a look at mine and that is how mine is cut with a slot on both sides. Maybe it is just blocked by a piece of balsa.

A new slot woud entail cutting through a CA butt joint and hoping the control rod will carry the side load of the elevator deflection. Maybe under light flying but that's not what the Ultimate was built for. So... Plan A...Call PA, get new elevator and printed instructions. Plan B...Cut a new slot at CA butt joint, install control rod, but that is problematic... Plan C...Install servo on opposite side (right). Re-cover hole on left side. Plan C is actually the easiest/fastest of solutions. That being said...What am I paying all of this money for? I'll see what PA says and then probably still go with plan C. As for the bashing... I'm sure I'm beginning to sound like a whining bitch but I have a very low tolerence for premium products commanding premium prices and then coming up short due to negligence. |

It's not glue seepage.. It's 2 pieces of wood trying to be 1 piece.
I'm jealous of you all! Your stabs all have 2 slots and I only got one on mine! Obviously something has changed. maybe they're trying to save some money... Bad policy. BTW... I have model #6072... |

All my PA planes have had little things that weren't quite right. Like my ADX didn't have hinge slots cut in one aileron, I received two of the same side landing gear struts. Still nothing was a show stopper, the overall build quality of the plane is good.
I would just install the servo in the otherwise and continue on |

Maybe my plane was made on a Monday or a Friday ?! Anyways. enough griping....I'm calling PA to let them know how my build is going and will probably install the servo on the starboard side. Moving on with life... |

You are right about the price paid and finding issues like this even if it small and even if they are easily fixed. One should not have these types of issues when you pay the amount they want for the plane and their slogan is "cause quality counts". But I feel my value wasn't necessarily in the fact that the plane needs to go together perfectly but in how they fly. For the ADX and AMR I have yet to find a better flying competitor's plane.
