So how is the vertical performance with your motor?.. Dont suppose you did a static thrust test by any chance?

Steve

Hi Steve

Cool, I'm going to try a bit more ruder/elev mix as the plane slightly decends inverted.

Vertical performance was ok with the Zippy 25C pack, but a whole lot better with the Hyperion 35C pack. Unfortunately I don't have any equipment to test static thrust.

Yesterday evening the wind was 0.0 MPH so I decided to do a flight over the pond in my back yard as it was too late to go field. Was hovering low over water, and got into a tight spot. As I was "getting out of it" the tip of the tail caught the water just enough to drag her down

Of course then I had to swim fast to keep from being alligator soup. Man am I out of shape!

The very first day the Blade Msr was released (and my first heli) I took it to a friends house at the beach. That night I got caught in a funnel... over the pool

I stripped down to nothin and jumped in fasted than you can say "nekked"...

I know that winded and out of shape feeling you were experiencing; I felt like I just bout had a heart attack!

Is it salvageable? Will it fly again? Did you lose a leg?

No risk of disaster involved.. Do the test at your flying field. Worst thing that can happen is that the tether breaks and the plane takes off as normal.

Unless you have so much thrust you pull the tail off

Yeah, she'll be OK. I already tested the lipo and it is fine. Am still drying everything else out. Pretty sure it is all good. Well let you know in a couple of days....

3d electric is my world.....
Hi all,
can anyone tell me what sort of flight time i can expect to get out of the PA Ultimate AMR on 2200mah?

That depends greatly on your flying style and the quality of your lipos. I fly heavy 3D and get 5 to 6 minutes on Turnigy nanotechs.

A 2200 Mah lipo is the perfect size and weight for the AMR. Just start off flying 5 minutes and then measure how much you have to put back into the pack afterwards. You may get 1 to 3 minutes more flight time depending....

I have my timer set to 8 min 30 seconds, which has been ok for sport flying but would be too long if you are doing lots of hardcore 3D.
A couple of times recently after I've landed the LVC has kicked in during the taxi back to the pits, so i think maybe I'm cutting it a bit fine Think I'll re-set the timer to 8 minutes flat.

New AMR

Just put one of these to-gether after crashing my ZG Pitts. Trying it with a 1.8 Nano tech 4s as I have some left from the Pitts.

I would use a lot of throttle control with 4s! I can remember several people ripping the motor off on 4s. What prop are you using?

I'm using an APC 13 x 4. So far seems OK but we'll see for how long?
