Guys!
Flew this fantastic Park Flyer this morning with the first of Cooler Temps at the RC Club. It was DEAD CALM and I was able to slow this model down like a GWS Slow Stick! Next time I will try the 3-Cell, 1800mAH, 25C Lithium Polymers instead of the 2200's! |

Just an amazing display of formation flying between Joe's Carbon T-28 Trojan 78-inch wing span and my Hangar9 F4U-1D 50-size Corsair Electric!
Two large RC Electric models side by side! We even looped on my mark of Three, Two, one and it was spectacular and provided a good show for those there. Some ground pictures of my Hangar9 Corsair and my Park Zone F4U Corsair (Original Version) side -by-side. |

wow, this took me back in time today, almost 9 years... back to Dec 13, 2008 when I got my first warbird ... the original ParkZone F4U Corsair
this is the one that I just HAD to have when I laid eyes up on it, she was sooo sexy hanging from the hobby shop ceiling, she was like a siren whispering my name ... but, the guys in the hobby shop who were looking out for me strongly (and wisely) advised me not to buy her, they were like ''Mark! stick your tongue back in your mouth and get your senses in order mister!" they knew I was a novice 3 channel brushed Super Cub pilot at best and to transition to a faster brushless 4 channel low wing plane, let alone a warbird, well... they were right, I just didn't want to admit it haha because I just had to have it they sold it to me and, as they predicted, I was back to see them, more than a few time s. I went through a few Corsair fuses\wings before I submitted to the idea I wasn't ready...so I decided to pick up the original ParkZone T-28 the guys at the hobby shop tried to sell me instead of the Corsair, lets just say I had much more success... go figure I eventually got to fly and enjoy the ol ParkZone Corsair ... and once I could fly it pretty well I wound up moving to upgraded motors, esc's, props etc and even shoved a 3S 4400mAh in it and got some pretty long flight times haha fast forward some years to today and I still have a coupe air frames left over after all this time, one was a well flown very used belly lander with busted off nose collecting dust but it had good horizontal stab... an old Super Cub airframe that was unflyable due to my abuse from overpowering it and not able to handle it but it had an OEM brushless motor from an old Corsair carcass in it and the OEM Corsair 2 bladed prop... and I found an 18a ESC on the bench under a bunch of junk from a Sport Cub... HHmmm... one of the Corsair fuses that has been hanging in the garage for probably 6 years had a reglued nose section but was pretty good shape overall... so I slapped it all together, even found an new cowl still in the packaging set it up on the DX9 last night with hi-lo rates and some expo, manually trimmed the control surfaces then fired it up to test the amp draw on the little 18a ESC using a 3S 1800 mAh... it only pulled 16a WOT ... the only thing left to do was get it in the air today and the day was perfect for it yes, thats a long story but I tend to ramble when I am jacked up excited ... super happy that it all came together... the 1800 mAh came down @ 11.49v after a 3:45 min flight and the 2200 mAh @ 11.71v after a 3 min flight man, after flying a lot of newer birds with AS3X, this old Corsair did ok but I sure do like the way the newer planes fly nowadays but this was a great feeling to revisit my humble beginnings and have a little success in the process -Mark here is the 1st flight:
here is the 2nd flight:
