New England Jet Rally 2008

Well I made the trek down to Gardner, MA this weekend to check out the New England Jet Rally. Aside from a passing shower the weather was beautiful and so was the flying! I had a great time of day dreaming of when maybe I could afford just one jet much less the three or four that I saw some folks with. I chatted with some of folks including one RC Groups member, Scott Corriveau from MotorFly motors who now goes by the name of: Reaper Blushless. Outstanding products by the way. Check out the monster outrunner below--equivelant to a DA-100 And I got some inside scoop on motors and planes from some of our favorite distributors. Anyway, here are the pics. Enjoy!

nice pic's dora, looked like fun. The Birddog is one of four ex Italian Air Force Superbirddogs (modified turbo prop versions of the old USAF classic), retired from the IAF a few years ago and brought over to the US.

Tri Pacer

You were correct, it is a Piper Tripacer. Flying milk stool. Actually, they are a nice airplane. With 160 hp they are faster than a Cessna 172. Many have
been converted to Pacers (tail draggers). Even a nice one is 30K or less.

John,

I should be flying by Christmas. I'm going to paint it before it flies and that
will take a couple of months with all the fiberglass finish work that needs to
be done. If were to forgo the paint and finish work it would be ready by the end of September. All the wiring is finally done. I'll post some pics after this weekend on my blog. I've been pushing pretty hard to complete it. Not allowing much spare time for anything else (not making the wife happy). Still watch the alfa posts most days though.

She doesn't mind flying, but is not crazy about it (like me). What she likes
is going places!

I gotcha. It's all how you get them to rationalize the obsession. For some it's..."well honey, I could be doing worse things." For others like yourself, "Honey I want to get us there in style."
