I maiden Edge wing plane today. My days of AG may be over forever ! Amazing performance! I love how shy flays! Totally different tempo then AG wing, Edge is far more upbeat . Very impressive lunch! I did few maybe 80% throws and I easily out lunched My full power trows with AG wing . I must put more hours on her but so far - love from first site.
Thank You G_T!

Glad to hear the new wing is working well for you! Have you flown a Zone based wing yet? I am eager to put together one of my Zone v2 cores!

Go Edge

Hi Seba,

I can second your opinion of the 4P Edge wing.

Flew mine for the first time 2 days ago (in the wet). Worked much better than my SGII AG series wings. As you said, launches better, glides faster and reaches out much further for its weight (265g).

Only problem is the structural integrity of the tip. Bent mine (probably because of all the extra weight the plane picked up from the wet grass) and have put in 2 extra CF spars to prevent that happening again.

Given this was the first of three Edge wings I have bagged over the past 3 weeks its a heads up for construction methods. If you have not yet bagged the Edge series, I strongly recommend that you put extra reinforcing into the tip to tie the peg to the spar. 1 oz CST Kevlar under 40g/m^2 R&G Disser (Kevlar / Carbon) isn't enough.

All the best for the New Year.

My layup is much heavier, 80g/m CF ST and 1.7oz kevlar. So far rock solid.

Kevlar for extra fabric at the tip is not the best choice. It is poor under compression. Unicarbon is much better.

It was first toss of a day!
I must find cheap 720HD lipstick cam! Conditions are perfect, on windy side (9-13mph). It doesn't get any better then soaring with buzzards .
Yesterday I almost "browned" My pants . After several minutes of fling in big blender far and high I lost site of My new plane! 10 maybe 20 sec later I spot her sailing steady away from blender .
More to come...

There is plenty, different sizes, of limestone rock laying around My fly field, first time out with new plane and I hit +/- 3" rock on landing . Bottom side of nose folds right in No choice, another mod. I filed 1/8"-3/16" of nose with ball of CF and kevlar tow dipped in resin . I used piece of toilet paper that helped Me stuff all that in nose with out sticking to the glove. It's not a looker any more but is rock solid.
