New Product

Long Range UHF RC system now avail on STOCK

hello, I have contructed this
http://www.webx.dk/rc/uhf-link3/uhf-link3.htm

and a nice little 7W booster here:
http://www.webx.dk/rc/uhf-link3/pa7w.htm

specially designed for FPV ultra long range,
any range can be achived !! using more power and bigger TX antenna,
I prefer small TX antennas so a bit more power is used :-)

with the small whip antenna (supplied) the 500mW standard transmitter with out booster, will perform atleast 5-8km depending on landscape and noise polution in the area.
the 7W booster will x 3 the range to 15km or even alot more.
using a better and bigger antenna/or more power you can achive 100km range or actually any range needed !

Achived range can be different from location to location,
for some it is more for some it might be less,
please put your results in this thread and let us hear about how you did it.

This system use multible frequencyes from 430 to 444 MHz
in a complex hopper system so it is virtually invisible by others, and un-jamm able too.
all units contain a bootloader so a simple serial port interface can upload new firmware, when new features become available.

it can be used with any RC system that have PPM trainer outputs and with a CONSTANT PPM frame time,
please read the manual on the link I have posted.

7 W

I got this nice product and make a range test with very very surprise it's powerful.

However I have not test with my airplan yet.

Remember that this unit recently best suit with Multiplex.
I normally use Futaba, but finally I dare not to modify my Futaba to fit with this system, finally I did order one Multiplex TX and it can work well.

Thomasscherrer I will order 7w from you. How about the price of 30w.

it should be able to work with ANY brand of RC unit,
as long as you know what pin the PPM come out
and what pins the power is.

however I like the Royal Multiplex transmitters due to their standard DIN plug
extreamly easy to get, and have power in / out and PPM in / out too.
well also the UHF TX unit I have designed fits perfectly behind the metal holder on the back, that is nice too.

I have send you email about this order, thanks.

you want to see:

servoes moving ?
I think that looks exactly like any other receiver with a handfull of servoes connected.

or the diversity LED's shifting ?
looks really cool when you move the receiver a bit
it constantly uses the best antenna and this is shown on the two LED's
located near each antenna connector,
you can remove both antennas and wipe a finger near each antenna connector acting like antenna signal, and the LED's follow your finger,
I have played a bit with that :-)

Anyone know the scoop on the use of those frequencies in the US?

ham radio and other hi and lo power remote services,
try to find out if any possible free licenced band exist in the 410 to 450 MHz,
best if you have one alocated specially for remote controll of models and such like we have here in europe. we have 500mW aloved, and can use 433 to 434 and 444 MHz, even at the same time or as channel hopping if we like

Other good point is that ,when we fly this system we do not need to check the frequency of other party, I do not know how to explain may be it is same as 2.4GHz system. Thomas can be explain more clear to us.

The Rx really small and all work look like came from big factory not a hand made.

well at the moment they are just hardcoded to opperate in a frequency set
to save development time, but later it is possible to make it automatic,
like search and use new frequencies everytime you power it up.
if many different users need to use this system at the same field at the same
simply inform me, then I program them to use different frequency sets.

the RF input circuit have a 4 pole anti 2.4Ghz filter,
this way it can be mounted near 2.4GHz video transmitters used for FPV
with out degrading the range.
this filter is also active at 900MHz but ofcourse not as effective as it is on 2.4

According to the ARRL, 420MHz to 450MHz is open to U.S. amateur operators.

Keep in mind that 450-455Mhz is standard intermediate frequency for most
35/36/72/etc Mhz R/C Rxs, so be careful using gear this powerful near anyone
else. Single conversion Rxs would be most affected but some DC Rxs
can't deal with it fully either.

NICE thomas !!! That is great technology, and an easy way for someone to fly at a very long range. I am glad to see you selling this system, it will make for some very exciting and ground breaking FPV .

Not True,

You are thinking 455 KHZ intermediate frequency for the RC RX, which is 1000 times lower than 455 MHZ. It should not be a problem.

Dear JettPilot

I learn that you are one of FPV king, it seem to me that now notthing to worry about range of my remote control, then more worry on VDO range.

Soon, will need your help.

Regard.

yes video range is the limit now :-)
but with a 500mW or even 1W 2.4GHz video tx
and a good large directional antenna it is possible to get good relaiable video range up to 10 times what we normally use.

one of my first customers crashed and lost his FPV planes in his eger to fly far far away, he said perfect RC range :-) good luck for me hehe,
but problems at 5km due to bad video range, so be warned, fly at least 1/10 of the distance as height to achive max range and avoid goind behind large houses or trees far far away.
for example if you are 5000meters away, then be at least 500m up.
