Simply plug the dolly receiver servo into the rudder channel of the dolly receiver. If using 2.4 bind the 2nd receiver to the same settings as the plane.

Hey I like that. I do not have a 2.4
I was thinking of using a very lose extension and having it disconnect
the steering/rudder on lift off.

Have done both; use the 2nd RX and small pack only now -- no mod needed on the bottom of the plane!

More video and pics on the Twister thread. Some changes to the belly support and it works well.

Thats a very clever and simple Idea. Very nice!! I need to build one as I hate launching with a bungee. And if you dont hand launch a "bungee launched" jet just right it doesnt fly to well if ya know what I mean/

I agree with everyone else what a clever idea. I'm in the same boat as you but most likely worse. I have NEVER thrown my FJ and flown it - it's only flown when thrown by someone else... Was looking for bungee solutions and saw this! Great Idea - my FJ will thank you greatly!

Man, that Sniper and Multiplex Sonic liner are two planes I've been wanting to get my hands on without any luck. Dang Multiplex!

Here's another variation on the PVC tube thang:

Besides a steering servo, it also has a servo that moves a release pin - carries an on-board receiver and battery as well.

As for my Twister, not only does it fly out of your hand without being thrown, but it will rise off grass if the grass is short enough. (Of course, make sure it's not full of loose rocks, sticks, etc to avoid FOD)

Some great designs and ideas you guys have. I have had some good luck with my cart. I do like the steering and the PVC design. I used 4 wheels on concerns of tip overís. I think they also need to be as low as possible for slide offs to limit nose and wing damage. On lift off sometimes the cart will do a sharp turn, I think the weight on the front wheels gets to light. I want to add some weight to it next one. Here is a video with nose cam on the launch.
