Very Nice performance...

I wish I could use city highways as my runways too

Richard (SpaceShuttle1) has received his new Lander F9F and has ordered the new improved wing assembly with the Flaps + Pre-Installed linkages and of course the Retracts!

Hopefully, Richard will update us at his thread over in SCALE "Electric Warbirds"

Maidened mine yesterday ! Was a bit apprehensive after watching the videos as it does seem to motor, especially on landing !
I fly off grass, and this model was exactly what I was looking for, as I am getting fed up with loosing models on Hand Launching. My confidence has gone after loosing 3 in a row ! I beefed up the gear mounts in the nose and wing to cope with the punishment on grass.
I was very impressed by the modular construction, and it has been so well thought out, everything is accessible for maintenance even when it is finally assembled ! Which it needed to be as I managed to damage the nose gear after a rushed landing caused by battery problems.
My only issue with the maiden flight was the CG position. I think I have one of the early versions and the advised position (80mm from the front of the modular wing section) seems to be a bit aft. The model needed a load of down trim (almost full down) and still flew tail down. I moved the battery forward on the second flight and there was an improvement. That was as far as I got as the battery gave up prematurely on me and I damaged the nose gear.
Although the Panther isn't my favourite aircraft this is one fine model, probably the best Chinese foam EDF model I have put together. I can't wait to see what else Tim comes up with !!!
I'm running a Mega 16/15/2 in a lipped fan shroud from an EDO F15 with a VASA impellor and Loong Max 4s 2250 25c batteries, but going to up grade to 3000 mah. Spent most of the time at 1/3 throttle and it flew pretty much scale speeds. Its very smooth and the landings could be very slow indeed, once I get used to it.
I love it, off to fly again now, well done Tim !

Man I like the performance of the 4-cell version, but unfortunately I do not have any of those batteries.I do however, have a lot of 3s TP 2100's.Do you think that two of these would fit in parallel and still meet the C.G. range?

The battery compartment is so spacious and long I reckon you could get most things in. I got a FlightPower 3300 which fits and balances.

Don't worry the C.G. point issue, Since my first test flying F9F was powered two packs 2200mAH in parallel for power supply. You just concern the quality of battery. Please go ahead to do it.

Hope you enjoy her performance and have more fun.
