How do I make scenery for aerofly Pro Deluxe?

I am trying to make a photo field of my local flying place, and some parks - How can I do it?

I have the panos stitched, but cannot seem to find a way to import them correctly. are there any good step by step instructions or tools in english?

my german is non existant and the available tools on IPACS website don't seem to work for me....

help?!?!

thanks!!!

This sounds great. I'm going to take pictures of our club field and try to import them to Aerofly.

creating panorama scenery

Searching the RC Groups sim forum for 'panoramas' will yield a number of helpful threads on the topic of photographing and stitching the image sets required...

Also lots of info in other RC sim forums as well as forums devoted to panorama photographs, e.g. www.panoguide.com/forums

Please show us some results!

When I open one of the photo scenery files on Aerofly, this is what I see

What is all that stuff?

The Aerofly Wizard importer generate/convert those images for ya.
Aerofly use a sort of Hexigon/sphere mapping.
It gives a better projection then a skybox.
Notice the 5 sets of images?

Example if there's a big/tall building in the panno, You'll notice
the building sway back and forth more in a SKYBOX format.

TMT are image files. You can also download a .TMT to .BMP
files converter from Aerofly...Incase you want to change color scheme for models.

Just download an equirectugular from FLICKR ..resize it to 8192x4092.

Or download a Reflex scenery then, increase the pano canvas to 8160x3080,
than resize it to 8192x4092...The Wizard importer say "Reflex type" pano,
straight up ..you'll see.

The TGO is that object...(the sphere/cyliner) When you generate your own
pano you get an object file. You can change the RGB, shine, ligthing.

In the scenery folder you'll see GEO files.
You can use NOTEPAD to open those file to adjust/add models stating position and add commands to command obj/tgo files such as buffer zones/transparent objects.
Or adjust the camera's hieght for slope sceneries.

Realflight use .DDS files for it's skybox images. You can get dds files convertor
for free if you look around.lol If you know someone that has the G3 or G4
ask them to make you copies of the sceneries dds files. Then feed it into
the skybox to equirectangular converter, then feed it into aerofly or reflex.lol

How do you identify obstacles, so the plane will not fly through trees and mountains?

how do you make that tgo file, is there some wireframe that you manually manipulate to correspond to the panorama?

You have to use a 3D software.
Metasequoia LE 2.1 is free if you're running XP.
It's the same software people use to make FMS models.

Then you have to get a converter from Aerofly.

aaaaggghhhh! How do you make the scenery from the bare bones! Would it be possible to tell me how to stitch the pictures together and so on...

Thanks

Use Search Function for panorama

Sheldon,

In my post above I meant to show the links from an RC Groups Sim Forum search, looks like that didn't work out as I thought...

At the top of this page locate the Search tab, click that and then choose Advanced Search and then enter "panorama" as your search term. Further limit your search to this Simulator forum only, you'll get lots of threads...

Here's one thread which includes additional links but also displays some of the basic processes of capturing and stitching the image set required for a panorama image.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...light=panorama

Sorry if this hijacks the original thread...
