Pencon. I have a 6904 and a 2w-20, HET 75AMP ESC and it was kicking crazy amount of watts. 1000 and 70 amps on a 4s 2200 45C-90C. I was going to change it to 3S because it was to high. How did you get your numbers so low?

I am curious.....

What you guys see as heavy. Just put my Phantom on the scale, and it is 1,054 gr. without a battery. Add another 366 gr. for the 4s 3300's and we're at a lovely 1,420 grams.

Ah. Thought it felt heavy.

That's 1,474 grams, Pen. Wonder if those 2 extra cells make up the 50 grams diff. Thanks for the comparo!

My 2W-25 on 6904 is kicking out well over 1.1kw (from memory I thought I read 1.3kw but not sure without testing again) , I've come round to the fact that 6S would just be crazy on this and would put far too much stress on airframe.

To be honest it's unquestionably the fastest EDF at our club (on 5S), just bought a new Hero3 camera so will post some footage of her soon.

I'd be interested to see Pencon's on 6S but won't be going that way myself.

Good thread though, am keeping my eye on progress.

Andy, while you're out spending money , go to Velocity RC or HK and buy one of their nice little GPS units. That way you can verify just how fast she is.

Andy , your 5s het fan will probably be faster than my CS 10 6s . Or how do you find they compare since you have both setups on 5 s ?

Pikestaff: Good idea, I'm running Hitec gear so could invest in a Blue-E or similar. I've actually got some very average footage taken on an old camera I will edit and link for you. I would guess easily 100mph.

Pencon: The CS10 is slightly slower, but its all relative as the 6904 really is fast, in many ways the CS10 feels more solid and gives better vertical performance, there's clearly more torque there and the sound is much closer to that of a real jet as you don't get the whine.

I really couldn't chose between the 2 setups, the CS10 is solid and probably the sensible option whereas the 6904 is a little wild and 'Rebel Without A Cause'.

Let me try and patch together some footage of the 6904 and you can see for yourself but please don't let me put you off 6S though, you just might need to have a few clean pairs of trousers to change into after each flight

I have one of these: http://www.velocity-rc.com/cgi-bin/v...on=show&pid=59 but have not yet been able to put it into the Phantom to see what it will do. It is plenty zippy.....

HK has em cheaper, but think these guys are a touch closer to you so maybe shipping would be better.

Agreed that the CS10's are hard to beat, sound-wise. But if you want a phast Phantom, still need to go HET or WeMoTec.

I have a Hitec GPS unit on another model, I'll remove it and put it on the F-4, it basically gives the same info as the Velocity displayed on the Tx.

if i didn't have this gear to hand I would buy the Velocity looks like a good piece of kit and easy to use too, idiot proof is always good where I'm involved .

43Hammer , I do have a Het 1w-40 as well and a 6904 rotor in an alloy rc-castle housing for 5S but that setup is going into my Mig21 , now if I could just find a place where 65c gens ace Lipos aren't sold out
