Question

3 Blade head set up

I need some info on 3 blade head setup. I'm looking at getting a HBK2 and installing a 3 blade head from here..rc-expert
Is working with a multi blade head that much different than a 2 blade+flybar?
What do I need to consider? Will the heli be more stable?

Configure multibladed are actually quite straight forward. It does not matter it is 2,3,4,5,6 or 7 blades, u always use one blades as the reference.

In normal configuration, the linkages from swash plate to center of the blade grips are in 90Degree. In other word, 90Degree phasing. The linkages "Lead" the blades grip by 90Degree.

In flybar+paddles configuration, there is actually an mechanical gyro (that is the flybar + weight. The weight is actually from the paddles itself) that provide the auto stability to the heli.

In multibladed, u do not have the flybar+paddles... thus u lost that auto-stability. To make the heli stable, u use any one of these or a mixture of these:
1. Weighted tip or heavy blades.
2. Normal Gyro + eCCPM Mixer. If your heli is mCCPM, then u do not require eCCPM Mixer.
3. Auto-pilot kind of devices
4. Those V-Bar, VStabi and etc stuff.

The key is weighted rotor blades
This is the most important thing to get you blade weighted correctly

How do you weight/balance them? Do you put weight at the tips, or do you weight the whole blade? How do you know how much weight? Trial and error?

Hi,
Concerning the blade balance: Find the heaviest blade. Then, take a balance
between another blade and the heaviest blade like a seesaw by adding some tape
to the tip of another blade.
