Down to 0.3mm apparently. Interesting stuff...

Now I need to figure out how to get a sample out of a company that only sells full rolls
OK but that's only the film to glue ratio. You still have to select an overall thickness. What thickness is the map laminating film? It does sound more hopeful. What's their minimum order and roll width? So many questions! Sorry!

The total thickness of the 3/2 map film is 125 microns. Roll width is 1062mm, and a 100m roll is about £145.

Just for reference I measure the Balisti Ply 10 and its .010 inches and the stuff Dave got me and its .010 inches thick (this includes the adhesive). One thing I noticed is Dave's stuff shrinks just a bit cleaning up the surface. The Balisti Ply 10 didnt shrink at all.

I've got "New Stuff" available here: Wyoming Wind Works

I'm selling it in 10' increments. I've got the 5 mil 3/2 DI (Plastic-Ply Light) in 12" widths and the 10 mil CP (BCH) in 18" widths.

NEW STUFF over old-stuff

How about techniques for using NEWSTUFF over old covering... aka zom-bee's?

I know it's a popular method for reviving the old dirty wings with minimal work.
Here's how I picture it (though I have yet to do it):

-prep: remove elevons, iron down old covering to get out most of the wrinkles

-???: thinned goop over the whole wing? 3m77??? something to increase the bond for what will be a ghetto composite?

-NEWSTUFF over the old stuff.

-reattach elevons

-fly faster!!

...any input on this re-covering technique would be appreciated. (Karl, Ian?)

That minus the Goop. It's not needed.

Dunno if Karl normally re-hinges the elevons before or after the New Stuff
as it may be trickier to get the hinge tape to stick to the outside.

I'm using hinge tape on one of my models without any problems.

The hinge taping was done on the outside of the New Stuff.

I use crossweave tape compression hinges topped off with a strip of 3m book tape (good stuff) on whichever surface the hinge is (top or bottom). All this directly on to New Stuff and it really sticks well. I've also had no trouble with coloured packing tape sticking to NS. It's a pretty effective decorating solution.
