Not too sure about flying "B" Tim; but I am having fun on no wind days flying my bagged wing Psyko, so the Xplorer should be a real peach.
I got a red carbon one. Its light and PRETTY!!

The Xplorer weights have been 72-77oz...
Depending on CG, gear, wiring harness. I have flown the 77oz model, it still feels light. But that model was a carbon, JR servos 3421+368's..440 linkage..
larger diameter wire harness.. Very well built... Still a winner IMHO.

OT question re: Nan Models


Sorry for the OT question but I need alittle help.

I have a NAN Models Alexx XXL-E 2.6. A few months ago I had a ruff landing on the side of a slope which broke the carbon wing joiner bar, that was the only damage. I have e-mailed Nan Models 11 times and Radi 5 times to get a replacment joiner bar. I have not once received a reply......

Can anyone help me out? Does anyone have any idea's for me???

I'm desperate to get my bird back up in the air again.

Well, I finally got to fly my Xplorer today... All I can say is that I haven't been this happy about flying a model since November of 2003, when we had the maiden flights of the Houston Hawk... ... Oh no... ... what I meant to say is these things are PIGS! You really don't want one... Don't even think about it... save your money... a Dragonfly Strong would out fly this thing any day...

We had a seriously nice day today in Amarillo. I was flying with the guys over there and working on my set up some. Still some work to do but made it into the spot every time and nothing to repair when I got home. She seems to like a bit more airspeed in the turns, but I got used to that fast. Zippity Doo Da... What a sailplane...

Congrats on getting some airtime. Can you share some of your setups you are flying? CG, AUW, Throws etc.

Reason is in the limited time I have with the X, to me it seems that I can thermal it slower than a Perfect. But I find that it will tip stall a little nastier only because it is going so slow already that it needs the drop to pick up speed.

At 108cg, I was not very smooth flying it. This could be due to the throws I had in the beginning. Now with the throws at minimal and CG at 106.5 I can take my eyes off it while circling in a thermal to look at others for clues, but will still signal lift xtremely well.

This extra stability helps if you have a timer that loves to look only at your plane while you fly and have worse eyesight than you.


FWIW, I can thermal this thing slower than a Perfect, about the same as a Shadow but it is the slowest of all planes I have flown coming in for landing.

Please don't take any offense into my curiosity. I know you are an expert builder/flyer and like I said, I am just curious about your statement. Maybe it's all just relative..
