Hey Jaizon I thought you was a Supra man now? I have not seen the 3.8 out that much lately. But I will say you do fly that 3.8 pretty good. We will have to see if it can take my perfect this time!!! HAHA

I must point out that you'll have to stay for the full contest to have a glimmer of a chance. No temper tantrums.
Don't believe I've ever seen a Pike painted with skulls.
Back to Xplorers.

Yes, gentlemen, I pulled the trigger yesterday. 4.0 ST. Due in November.

Actually it's red with white tips (that criss cross design), with b/w bottom.
Come to Muncie next year and see it up close.
That color scheme (on my 3.8) just jumps out of the sky for me.

Okay, now that my 4.0 is on order can I get a couple of recommendations on wing servos? I have 378s in my 3.8 but will not use them again. Don't get me started. So what are you 4.0 owners using? Thanks.

For my 4.0 I used JR 3241s on elevator and flaps. They were a tight fit on the flaps. I used Atx 94671s on the rudder and ailerons. Again a tight fit for the ailerons. What did you not like about the 378s? I used 368s on my 3.5 everywhere except the ailerons where I used 168s. I've had no thouble out of any of them. From what I'm hearing, they shouldn't have changed...

I'm using the Futaba 3150 on flaps and elevator in my 3.8. I have not detected any performance issues related to using them. I get about 64 in-oz of torque at 6 volts and that has proven to be plenty.

At least I know when my plane is on. But then again, so does everyone else.

For some reason JR has seen fit to discontinue the 3421 and 168. The 3421 is my favorite for elevator, but I'm a bit nervous about using servos that will be harder and harder to find parts for. I can still get 3421s at my LHS and might be tempted to use it on elevator because it centers like nothing else I've used. I, too, have 368s on my 3.5 flaps with no problem. Just don't know if they're quite strong enough for the 4.0. The 378 noise is not that big an issue for me, but of the 8 I use in my planes - none centers well, and that is an issue for me. That's right - none.
