You will need to try the 3.5 Xplorer.
The ratio's are spot on with fuse length, tail volume and flap and ailerons size.
I guess compared to your 55oz supra's, they do come in a little hotter but are slower than anything I have flown in the 72+ oz range.
Cheers,
Thomas
Yes I flew the X 3800 in J. I would like to try the 3.5, but I still think the 4 with the 3.5 tips will be pretty nice.

I would be VERY INTERESTED to hear how the plane does with the 4 meter parts and 3.5 tips but can you retrofit those parts?
According to Bob, the parts are interchangeable. It looks like the X 3800 tips are the same as the 4 meter tips. I bet the 4 meter model is also a great model.

That was a heck of a great game. Now that the Olympics are over I can get some sleep at night. Congrats to Canada on your outstanding showing throughout the last two weeks.

Congrats to both American teams, specially Canada! After all, it was not so bad for Finland, bronze and best European team. I can live with it, while waiting for the flyable weather

The Tsunami affected our oceans & as a result contributed to the Wx we're seeing now. Yeah, last night was the first nigh here that it wasn't COLD() in several days. It's all relative, but when you are acclimated to 65-85 & it dips into the 50's, it's cold. Hard for mainlanders to believe that I have 1-2 comforters & 2 sleeping bags zipped together for covers.

Oahu generally gets much better Wx than we do in Hilo. We ave. 135" rain/year. One year we saw 211". Hilo where rain reigns. Maui would be great too.

There's a great bowl slope near South Point, but if you lose the lift, your model is in the ocean.

Hey guys, anyone have any issues fitting the wing tips?? One of my joiners is a bit tight, and both the wings tips have a gap near the trailing edge where they join with the center section. One side is worse than the other. The only thing I could think of is sanding the joiners down a bit to create some slop....

Try playing around with the joiners. Put different ends into the tips/center section, switch sides, etc. Doing that I was able to improve the fit. It is still not as nice as my Sharon or molded Graphite (or even my NYX), but it is not bad. I tape over the joint anyhow, so it is not that big of a deal.

Sanding I do not think is a good idea, unless you are very careful and have a very steady hand!!
