Hm. I still have an old Hornet prop, and it is WAY bigger than the Sleek Streak prop!

One of the young guys in the club used to cut in half-span flaps, glue them at around 30deg, thin out all the surfaces, change the rubber, and keep flying it until it became lost in a boomer. He did this every Saturday...

Another long time Sleek Streek flyer here. I think I got my first one in the mid 60s. I learned early on to glue the tail feathers on or they would start falling out every flight. Things really improved when I learned to put a moveable aileron on one wing so I could do trimming. I'm building a double size one with a couple of 'improvements'. If they work out, I'll build a another with built-up wings and tail, but we'll see.

Gyros, did you ever find or build one?

Digging up an older thread for something relative.

It is a shame we can't get the Sleek Streek anymore like we once could.
I found this article that shows how to "Soup up " your Sleek Streek. Could be frun to those of us who played with a few of these (then} inexpensive jewels.

I don't even have a nice picture of one anymore...

Does anyone rememeber the larger cousin to the Sleek Streak. I have wing mounting for it I just got a box-o-stuff that had the foam wing Sleek Streak which is what I have been looking for for about ten years. I am slowly collecting dime store FF planes and gliders I played with growing up. I only need FF profile glider of a 727 that had a balsa fuselage with full length decals that also made up vert stab and held the horizontal stab on. It had a great foam wing the thing would glide forever.

Soar Dude,

I think the larger cousin to the Sleek Streek was the previously mentioned North Pacific Star Flyer

I ran across this color graphic for all the balsa Sleek Streek parts. Could this be helpful to some to maybe create their own? Pretty sure the stick was 1/8"-5/32 thick balsa and the rest 1/32" sheet.

You never know unless you ask, so here goes:

I'm in the market for Sleek Streek parts and kits, any condition. If anyone has any they'd be willing to part with (especially the wing clip), please send me a message and we'll make a deal.

Thanks!

Try EBay. I found some there a couple years ago, but didn't buy them.

Balsa Flies Better!
If you just need the wing clip- I think that Guillows has taken over the old North Pacific stuff- and done an absolutely awful job with them. However, I think there is a glider called a "Stuntflyer" available that uses those wing clips.

I've been prowling ebay with no success yet. Didn't know if anyone might have Sleek Streek parts tucked away in a box. Haven't been impressed with the Guillow stuff at all. I'll check out the Stuntflyer.

But my offer for parts purchase remains active.

Thanks!

Not a Sleek Streek but one of the more rare NIP advertising gliders has sold at a big auction site. Item number 140385581330. Still very cool to me.
