Can a Mega 16/15/4 be used in an E-glider?

I have this motor, along with a CC Phoenix 25, in a different project right now but am going to want an E-glider. I haven't read anything so far about this motor being used in a 2M floater (or slightly smaller) and am wondering how effective it would be.

Specifically, I am wondering how it would work in something like the Graupner Cumulus 2000 or FVK Trendy. Both of these planes call for brushed 400 or 480 motors with gearboxes.

Can my Mega be geared and propped to to work well in one of these planes? Specifically, which gearbox and prop would you recommend? I already have 8 cell 500AR and CP1300 packs.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are a plethora of gearboxes that will fit - its pretty much standard speed 400/480 case with a 3.2mm shaft

There is a gearbox made specially for it, and Tom Hunts H100 belt drive will also fit.

Standard SP400 boxes will need the pinions bored tho.

Or you can try the MPjet 4:1 box for the 480 series, and there are a couple of other 480 boxes out there.

Have a look at Nippons Daves web site fir s selcetion of useable boxes.

3:1 and around 14x7 prop looks like the sort of climbout to die for.

Might stress the 500ARs a bit tho. They aren't really the thing for a really hot combination.

1300's would take it. Getting close to 25A tho.
