So Todd,
You said you did that to a Vapor but I see white foam so I'm a lil confused.
How did you wire in the extra motor?
Did this cut the flight times in half? (twice the amp draw)

I fly GeoBats too. I love the broad envelope of the GeoBat.
We have one that is 1/4 scale.
Its 66" in Diameter.
22 lbs
Webra 1.20

It's envelope is 16 MPH - 104 Mph
Onboard GPS verified

Got a quick unrelated question about ember 2 brick..... My servos TWITCH like crazy... I don't notice any movement in the control surfaces but ....it is excessive and is definitely using battery life. What is going on? Is this normal, Both my ember II's do it, one was brand new when I got it about 3 months ago and the other was used. The used one did it the day it arrived in the mail. The new one just started doing it a week or so ago. Any info would be great...."Parkzone, is this a defect?"

I made a twin motor vapor gearbox and put it on a foamie, The vapor itself I went brushless. As for the 2 motors I soldered the 2 black wires together and the 2 white wires together and soldered a connector to those. I don't know the amp draw, I dought it was double because the RX ran flawless and flight times were good because I run Hyperion 120's

Consider doing this:

1.) Move elevator linkage as shown, two holes up from closest position to elevator;

2.) Move battery clip as close to the wing as possible;

3.) Use a fully charged ParkZone 120 mAh Lipo

4.) Pull the inside loops early in the flight, when battery strength is at max.

Works for my Embers.

Put in this motor,

With this prop

and this prop saver, check your shaft size to make sure this will fit

And your ember will be smoken

I ran the blue motor gearbox for a couple years you get more thrust and the extra amp draw is minimal.

Let us know how you installed the motor on the Ember. I assume this motor is larger in diamter than the stock Ember motor, hence it would not fit in the Ember motor mount.

Tnx

I will do that
I have about 15 ongoing projects so bear with me.
I do autocad Design work for technical Maintenance at Delta Airlines. Been here 30 Years this Month. I started as a Machinist , went to design 10 years ago.......The challenge is not if I can figure out how to mount it but to do it in the absolute lightest/ strongest way.
I'm great on the strongest, still learning on the lightest way to do stuff.

One Mod I did do to my Ember was I rotated the battery tray 180 on the fuselage so the battery wouldn't fall off so easy.

Had Ember 2, #1 up this evening, in cool/cold air (46 F.), dead calm conditions, absolutely perfect for an Ember flight. The lights (#2022 set) most definitely help when flying at late dusk. 22 minutes, 15 seconds before LVC, and this was with a ParkZone 120 1S Lipo, normally supplied with the UM P-51 Mustangs. I find I am using the 120's not only with the Embers, but also with the UM J-3 Cub and the Playmate. Should be interesting if I can get my hands on the Hyperion 130's, the MA 180's, and the upcoming (from what I hear) Turnegy 160's.

This is one of the facets of this micro flying that I really like. Better equipment coming up all the time, and the prices in some instances are going down.

Hey,
I flew the ember with the new motor. performance is definitly better. I'm using the stock ember prop. I have some Micro J3 props on order to try.

The way I mounted the motor originally really hurt the ground clearance for the prop. I changed the thrust angle for less down thrust which is supposed to help it fly better with more power.... but it also gave me more ground clearance.

I really only get to fly it on thursday evenings when I carpet race....
so tonight is the night....... Im trying to finalize the changes before postin up pics etc.

Note; at full throttle, she will now loop from level flight!!!
