VARIO? They supply some hefty mechanicals that can heave a big scaler around the sly.

Tach.

Thatís a lot of weight so you will need a large gasser like the Century Predator http://centuryheli.com/products/heli...m?currentid=86

The Condor is the biggest one (810mm blades). Easily lifts 15 Lb payload and flies for more than 30 minutes Ė you canít come close to that with a nitro chopper.

I have EASILY lifted a 12lb payload with a Predator Gasser SE using 720mm blades and the G231 engine and CN3069 muffler.

i am not quite sure but i had my friend pull up 14 pounds with his raptor 90SE. that might work? otherwise, any smaller nitros arent close to pulling up 11 pounds. the 30 and 50 size nitros have SO little power, it struggles when doing 3D!!! electric is awesome. massive power and reliability.

The big problem with those helicopters is that they burn lots of very expensive fuel had have a very short flight time.

Gassers are the only practical solution for listing large loads with a reasonable flight time. Once you own a gasser you will just laugh at those high nitro fuel prices.

To add to RC Man's post...another thing I found with using a nitro to carry payload was how the oily residue got on everything. And also important for AP work, was how the heavy smoke from the nitro would get into the pictures.

No such problems with electrics or gassers.
