Twirl was my first autogyro and I found it real easy to fly. ROGs real quick and then just cruises around like an easy three channel plane with a little greater angle of attack. Bring it up a bit, cut the power and watch it float down slowly with the rotors braking the descent-really cool!

Have fun and post some pics if you can.

Twirl

Well I could not wait, so after dinner I went out the street and flew it between the parked cars and trash cans out for pick up!!Short flight
but it took off in about 10 feet with very low throttle... high rates is not
a good idea and I was all over the place, so next flight low rates and I can
see I'm going to enjoy flying this bird, tomorrow I'll take it to Sea World
field and go for broke.......(I used 80% expo both high and low rates)

Twirl

Well it was quite a sight,in the mist of one large 330 edge, and two medium
size planes it would just laizily stroll over the runway (very slowly) it was
a lot of fun to fly. It does'nt take off! it seems to levitate, I swear the
blades were hardly turning on the first take off!!!! I was having trouble
making it fly a straight line and I think the cheap $10 servo just cannot
find the same center twice in a row.So now a couple of my friends that I fly
with at the park want one,"here we go" (I love this hobby)

Hi,

Here's another movie link to a Lightflite Twirl flight today:-

I left the normal sound on this one so you can hear the rotors tweet

This is the first properly flyable day here for ages - the weather was so bad in the week that the International Air Tatoo at Fairford had to be cancelled due to flooded car parks

Enjoy,

Al

what kind of paint

Hi Don--- I use acrylic that I purchase at Wal Mart or Michaels here in San
Diego' I apply it thinned about 50% on the yellow and around 30% on the
trim color, the gun is an air brush and a small hobby compressor. Takes about
a hour including dry time .(adds very little weight)
Al Foot's Twirl made the front cover on the club Peak Charge monthly news letter it's a fun flyer and a nice change of pace......

will stay tuned for updates and advice.

No I landed fine however the camera ran out of battery and quit filming. Should have checked battery condition before use. I have 36 flyable planes and have been flying RC since the 60's so seldom crash. Only time I do is right after I say "Now watch this!" Other flight videos at:
