Excellent looking heli, cbarnettone! Thanks for doing the research to find the parts that fit together for an inexpensive FBL conversion.

I've got an NX on order and a spare 3x1000 sitting in my toolbox. Maybe I'll order a few more parts and convert...

What power system are you planning to use (motor/ESC/Battery packs)?

What other helis have you flown?

What type of flying are you planning to do?

I've got an mCPx, Blade 450x with cx-3x1000 and finally, an HK500GT.

Mainly just sport flying.

I have a 600+ 1100kv motor from a previous project. Planning to run it on 6s 4900mAh packs and gear it for sub 2000 rpm head speed. I'll probably run a HobbyKing ESC. I've had good luck with them on helis.

My goal is a larger, more stable heli for me to get many flights to get more comfortable with it. The long flights are a plus here.

The 600+ motor works very well with the Swift NX on the type of 6S packs that you are planning to use.

The smallest pinion that can handle that power is the 9T, which will give you about a 2100 head speed at a 100% ESC setting and at 80%, would give you a head speed of about 1660. So any settings between 80 & 100 will adjust your rotor speed somewhere in between.

It will also work well with the 650A+ 800kv 12/13T on 6S, typical hs is around 2krpm (+/- 200rpm)

That is another of the great advantages of the Swift, it is so versatile that you can use so many different power systems and blade lengths. I have used blades from 515mm to 570mm on some of mine.

I flew my original Swift for 100's of flights on 4S-10000mah packs. 18-20 minute flights.

Those packs are pretty heavy! Just shows you how much extra weight that heli can carry.

About how much assembly time did it take to get to the point of being ready for the electronics?
