As Stuart now offers the Puffin, and at a hefty price for an oscillator,

then I imagine that good condition used ones will earn their owners a pretty good return too...

I've often looked for one of these jewels on Ebay, nothing found.

Tony Green in England has an on line shop for steam engines selling for example
Wilesco, much cheaper (and cheap looking).

There are other makes of serious engines such as Saito in Japan, and the beauties from JMCloup here in France http://jmc.vapeur.free.fr/.

Some say it is fairly easy to build an oscillator without special tools or you could get complicated like here: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/jean-luc...bicylindre.htm

If you are looking for an oscillator steam plant, take a look at our website. We have a similar steam plant to the puffin for less of a price. These should be available soon if you are not in an immediate hurry to obtain one.

Thank you Kmot for your thoughtful compliments. Many hours of TLC goes into each steam plant.

Duncan

A really really rough over estimate for shipping costs including insurance would be about 150.00 U.S. This is the best I can do for now with out knowing your exact address. There will not be any import duties to pay but your local V.A.T. would still apply once you receive it. We do have distributors in the U.K. so another option would be to buy directly from them. You could avoid the shipping costs. Hope this helps.

Thanks Nick .
I could get my contact in Texas to take delivery , and send it over to the UK with one of our Machine containers .
I think this is what I will do when the time is right .
which unit would I be looking at for the same power as a Puffin ?
As the steam launch I am looking at was designed with that unit in mind.
Regards.
Duncan.

Hi Duncan,

We could probably work something out with you regarding shipping the plant to Texas first.

The range of steam plants that would be a direct replacement for the Puffin, would be our "Mobius" Vertical or Horizontal steam plants. These are intended to work with some of the more popular kits such as the Krick range as well as many others. The larger range Krick boat kits such as the Victoria and Borkum would need the "Mobius" Vertical steam plant. The smaller Krick boat kits such as the Anna and the Alexandria would use our "Cirrus"or "Stratus" Vertical steam plants. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Nick
