Silicone hinge made easy.
Wanted a tough, flexable hinge for the ailerons on my new Andromeda 2m. Heard a few say they were very happy with theirs so gave it a try and they work far better than expected. Seemingly indestructable and light.
1/16" gap, masking tape on wing surface, fold aileron open 75 degrees, apply 1/16" flat silicone bead in gap, smooth with flat tooth pick, fold to level position, let dry overnight, remove masking tape.......viola....presto change-o...old dawg, new trick. Or follow the link below to the guys who do it better than me Pics to follow. http://www.rc-soar.com/tech/silicone.htm http://www.slopeflyer.com/soaring/ht...one_hinge.html |

At the mancured 500acre sod field of St. Augustine grass. Jan/20/03 temp crashing down into the low 70's. Hey it's either this or a dreded beach full of bikini's. Hmmmm maybe the lift will die...
