I figured they were hard to get cause hand tool companies kinda have the market cornered right now, and I know really they are not really ours, just meant to be funny given the question. Are they not viable for car use? or are they viable and there scooping them up? I know GM is planning some 123 use in the new E-flex system.

Erik - Almost all of the car manufacturers are looking to the lithium battery as the next step. Toyota is building a plant to make them.

I think we have hijacked this thread and should get back to watching nacelles.

Word is they have been used in The Toyota Prius for years by about 500-1000 cells each car. Many do still not realize LiFePo technology is pretty old and proven.

I would not use any Lipo in an A10 including mine. way too expensive and way too short lifespan IMHO.

Getting back on topic.... My plans are to use an 11S lipo setup for power. Probably somewhere around the 8000 mah range. The lipos will be the last purchase, much depends on the amount of nose weight needed; A-10 models are notoriously tail heavy. For some reason if I do need to add weight to the nose I would rather add battery capacity instead of lead. On the other hand, if the plane comes out heavier than I want, I will have to skimp on battery capacity to save weight, and live with shorter flight times.

granted anything can happen but that thing is so huge all your electronics and all your cells could probably sit together in the nose so hopefully c/g wont be a prob.

Well Brad I got to hand it to ya. You have taken on a large project there. If your woman is still with you by the time your done Than I need to congratulate her for being so understanding. Then you also know she's a real keeper.

Most likely going with the Barksdale AFB scheme, I like the newer grey camo more than the older green camo.

I have a winter camo colorsheme somewhere. I'll dig it up for ya if you like.

Somehow I think you might have visibility problems with the light grey sheme

Need to finish mine later. I found a twin project too expensive for Lipolly. an other problem was the very long wiring from Battery/esc which is an issue with lipolly. This project will be after the 80" turbine trainer/edf project and Huckebein project

The building has begun !!

I used the included engine pod bulkheads as templates to cut some new ones, from 1/4" ply to 1/4" light ply, total weight savings of 2 oz. so far...

But, it will add up, 16 bulkheads= 1 pound saved, in theory.

I'm starting the build with the engine nacelles and mounting to fuse.

Have to order balsa sheeting for wings and tail, none of the LHS stock wide sheeting. After much research, I found Dave Brown's " Southern's Sorghum" very popular for sheeting wings. It's a water-based (I think) contact adhesive. I just picked some up and the first test went perfect...easy to use, sticks like nothing else.

Use depron instead of lite ply if the former is not stressed and only needed for keeping the glass parts in shape. with this many formers the weight really adds up with lite ply.
