Aquacraft Scale Airboat

I'm not a fan of Aquacraft's junky gasoline boats, but their Air Force is a nice boat, I have one.

Check out this next must have for me:

It's scale in appearance, so I posted it here.

I have always wanted one of those Pacer "Everglades" style airboats. Only problem was by the time I found out about them, they were already out of production. I really want to get one of these Aquacraft versions.

This one was more appealing to me (different color though, don't like the yellow) and wouldn't be interested in the nitro, a nice electric motor would likley speed her up a bit too.

Vario prop would also let you tune for conditions a bit better as well. Looks like a fun boat.

A cool side effect of using an electric motor, even if you flipped it, you could still get her back to the shore with the prop underwater! LOL!

I need one with a air rudder, not a water rudder. Weeds totally screw up the aquacraft type boats.

Because of the way it is setup, I can see it would be quite easy to convert from glow engine to electric motor and back again. So it could truly be a dual purpose airboat.

You could also mount 2 electric motors in a push-pull (centerline) configuration that would counter out the prop torque so the boat would run more true. An electric motor configuration would probably be half the weight of the gas one so adding another motor wouldn't alter top speed either, it would probably pick up low end accelleration to boot.

Aquacraft seems to be enamored of nitro/gas performance though. Smoke, fire and noise!

Here's the one you buy if you want to do the conversion:

The Airforce is an airplane motor powered hydro!

The new one is a gator chasin', swamp bustin', Everglades runnin', snake stompin' airboat!

A good sized electric motor, ESC and battery pack likely weigh just as much as a nitro engine and it's tank if not more.

I have the yellow Air Force and it's quite fun.

I'm also working on my Dumas Big Swamp buggy but I might just shelve it when done and get this cool looking Aquacraft Gator boat.

A twin opposed cylinder four stroke would be doubly cool.
