Kavan He-162 Salamander

Just saw that EAM has the Kavan Salamander. This is for a wemotec micro fan.

Dave,
Lets see some more pictures. This might make a nice scale entry level EDF.http://eam.net/EAMRC/edf.htm

Sorry, it is in german, but you can read a review at www.parkflyer.de

Thanks Oliver.
BTW, the micro fan and Astro 010 fly the Flying Styro A-7 very well. I bet that would be a great combo for this plane.

Plane looks good. Designed for the WeMoTec micro fan. I translated the web page. Can not wait to get one.

Not too scale but still quite cute. I like the fact that you have the option of having a LG. Different fans should be easy to install. The motor package option takes the guesswork out of deciding what fan/motor etc combination one should pick. Even a little can of touchup paint is included. I understand Hobby People will soon add it to their Kavan import line.

Ever since I first saw a picture of the 162 I liked the lines. When I found out a littel more about it I was really interested in trying one out. Now HP might be importing the Kavan one... Nice.

I am thinking of getting one, and replacing the fan with a MF480 running a MEGA 16/15/3, off of 10 HE Cell 1100.

It should rock.

Retracts should be nice also.

Ah come on guys, dont leave me hanging !!! I would really be interested in hearing how they build and fly. Im looking into investing in another EDF and this looks like it has mass potential.

So it you have one and are flying it, please drop a line and let us how it flew etc. Pictures are always nice.

Thanks,

What is the fuselage, wings and rudder/elevators made of? The motor housing? How many cells can you fit inside the model?

the wings are dapron over EPS very sturdy, fuselage and other parts are a higher density depron than I have seen, the Nacelle is depron with vac formed ducting, really nice kit, with the Ice storm we just got hit with I may have time to get it built

In other words: FOAM with a Hardshell.

I am always amazed, (i work in the aerospace industry), how we never like to call things what they are. We engineers try to convince marketeers to do that but NO ! They just want to "jazz it up".

This is not addressed to you EAM. I know you are just reading off the marketing sheet provided to you by Kavan. I just wish companies like Kavan did not make hardshell foam sound like kevlar reinforced plastic.rolleyes:

Anyway... I am off topic... again

Does anyone have any pictures of this aircarft flying ?

EAM, since you are on this thread, what is the status on your HE-162 that, (I thinkwas an FVK ?), is being kitted for some time now ? Now that one looks like a model with some great potential !

No I am not reading of the marketing sheet I am holding it in my hands and it is sturdy, the fiberglass He-162 is an unknown I gave mine to Mark at DCU they were supposed to do a splash and a set of molds, and re-work the nacelle, I have been trying to get my plane or molds back for over a year now.
