Hey, I'm not THAT far from SanFran. Could someone fill me in a little more about this event. I MIGHT be able to get there and it would be fun since there aren't too many model boat events here in N. AZ.

WBOP really is a great event- Lots of opportunities to talk with other builders, look at great boats and run on the lake- All very relaxed- while a lot of effort goes into putting this event on, it still maintains a friendly, informal feel which makes for a great day at the lake- I forget the numbers from the 2006 event but they were impressive. The show attracts a lot of attention from the general public and provides good opportunity to share our great hobby. Club events typically start at 9 am and go until we can't take anymore or our batteries die!

There was over 130 boats, everything from the classic wooden boats to scale warship club, one guy had a live steam sailing around,an rc truck launching an rc boat. a lot of boats,a lot meeting new people and getting to put names and faces together. come I think you will enjoy your self

Azcapt I am the Power Squadron Officer of the SFMYC and am extending a personal invite to everyone out there to be here for the WBOP. It is basically a fun run type contest and if it floats it is welcome. might have a spot of bother accomadating the Go-Fastee type but will work it out onsite. The more the merrier is our CD's motto.
Entry fee is $10 bucks and will include lunch for the skipper.

Pictures from past Wood Boats on Parade. This was the first annual.

Iím standing there watching a model RC Truck launching a Cabin Cruiser, clutching a camera.
