Vpx

Hi Everyone,

I have a Black&Decker VPX cartridge style 7 volt pack that I thought would make a good Rx pack, trouble is I've searched and searched and could only find the How-To's for the DeWalt 36v.

I'm not sure on the best way to go about tearing this thing apart.
Anyone using this style battery cartridge ?

Thanks,
John

first, peel the sticker then you will see tabs to take top and bottom off.

here is the inside of a VPX.

Once you peel the label off it is obvious.

If you just peel off the lable, you can see the clips that hold the end caps in place. Lift the clip and the cap comes off.

Try to peel the tabs (gently) before using them, to see whether they are worth using or will fall apart. There were reports of poor spot welding of VPX pack.
There is no such problem soldering small 1100mAh M1A 123 cells, using ordinary tools, such as that which is with "adult" big A123 2300mAh M1 cells...

What is the circuit board attached? A charging regulator?Do you need it to build the pack?

Yeah it's all useless, just get to the pure cell.
