count me in! I'd be all over this plane if it weren't for the crazy shipping costs (and I'm building 2 other planes at the moment). What kind of wattage are you going for? Are you going to do 3D flying? Oh, and any idea on AUW?

Very interested in seeing how this one turns out. Been looking at this one for a while like i do at a lot of planes and ofcourse you cant beat the price and it looks nice and i like the color scheme but im very hesitant because of concerns for qaulity and flying performance and thats just the plane,id probally use gear i know performs well if i got one and save on the plane itself and see how it goes. Usually when you buy cheap you buy twice but everyone likes to save a buck here and there and sometimes you do find good deals on high qaulity stuff.. this hobby gets expensive quick though either way. Hope the qaulity and performance are there with the plane and all there reccomended gear. Looking forward to the build pics and a flight video would really rock.

Hi Guys: Ordered One From Hobby-City & Couldn't Believe It Arrived @ My Post Office 6 Days Later!! In Excellent Condition. The Yak Appears Very Well Made & No Wrinkles Were Noticed. I Am Planning On Using Graph Tech Carbon Fiber Gear, Instead Of The Stock 2 Piece Aluminum Gear. Power Will Be The Torque 4014-T570 & HS 225's All Around. I Have 2 Other Yak-54's Builds Ahead Of The 55. I'll Get Some Pic's Up When I Start The Build. Cheers: Joe

Has anyone got any more info on this plane, I just ordered one last night. I will be flying this plane on a 5s pack and going to give the TR 50-65B motor and Turnigy 80A ESC a try.

I have this plane. I fist bought a Turnigy 5065A 400kv motor, but the plane gets hoplessly nose heavy with this motor. Changed to a 5055A 400kv and a APC-E 16x8 prop. I use Zippy-H 6S 3300mah batteries, and I still have to use 15 grams of weght in the tail.
This motor has plenty of power. It draws about 63ah and around 1350 watts on full throttle. The plane weight is 2,65 kilos.

The servo openings are perfect for Hitec 225MG og 5245 servos. If you're using standard size, you have to largen the openings.

I use the Turnigy Plush 80A ESC. I also use the internal BEC. Works fine

Here's a link to my build thread. It's in norwegian, but it has lots of pictures. Page 6 has pictures from my last couple of flights.

A buddy of mine also have this plane. He has posted pictures of his plane in the thread under the name "flypilot". He uses 5s batterypacks and a motor with a little higher kv.

I'm very comfortable flying this plane. It's stable in high alpha manouvers, and is easy to hover and torque-roll. Rolling harriers are as easy as my 33% SD Yak (well almost )

BTW. It's built at the same factory that builds Hyperion and SebArt planes, and the quality is the same. I've just finished a SebArt Angel S50, so I should know!

Could you post some of your build images here? We are unable to see them on that other site. Thanks for the info, I am now going with the 50-55 motor.
