Post your Aeroflakes meet pics here

The first Aeroflakes meet was a success. Thanks from all to Dan Hurd of DWE for making it possible. Thank Dan at www.smallrc.com for underwriting this event.

We will schedule a couple more soon. Dan again will sponsor the event.

Some pics:
Dan and the new Widget. What a nifty flyer, slow and smooth.

Mike Cross's Minnow

Mike Cross sent up his Minnow. It is a very light stick and tissue plane which uses the innards of a 2" cheap RC car. The Tx, Rx, and motor are stock. It did fly as well as Mike reports on the bitchar-g thread.

We couldn't land on the carrier since someone had already flattened it with a Kamakazi attack. Many people flew the plane, and it performed flawlessly. Thanks Mike.

FrogBipe on the USS Flakestal

The attempt to launch from the carrier did not work out well. Pilot ejected successfully.

The FrogBipe series faired very well. All flew well in the hands of experienced pilots. V5.3 was the most agile, and V4.1 flew very smoothly with lots of power. At the hands of the builder, however, the plane demonstrated its strongest suit. Crashworthyness was demonstrated repeatedly by the designer.

The recovery was amazing

Not only did the pilot manage a vertical landing, but flew out after about 30 sec. in the rafter. Serious piloting skills.

LOL! I should have known you guys would post that one.

I guess that's what happens when you forget to flip the high rates back on and try a loop...a big arc into the rafters. Here is another shot of the hanging Slow Stik.

I wish I had taken a picture of Matt (mkirsch1) taking out the mock carrier with a Rare Bear!

What a blast! I'll post pictures when they are developed.

The Potensky Cobra was a bit hot for indoor flying but it appeared quite stabile and is ready for an outdoor workout.

As large as the GWS Slow Stik is, it comfortably flew indoors and performed some loops.

Wright Flyer

Here is the amazing Wright Flyer and its builder. The plane tried a few very short flight to test balance and controls. There were no plans to fly it extensively indoors.

A truly impressive job of detailing, however.

Don't feel bad Greg, I managed to 'land' my m-IFO on a raised basketball back board last night, stuck right at the base of the hoop. Couldn't have done any better if I tried.

We also tried some m-IFO combat with 3' long coton thread lead and 6' long paper streamer. It sure gets busy and dizzy even with only three planes up. I got my tail completely cut off, which got wrapped in the other plane's prop, taking him down, but I kept going. Who gets the kill?
