Looking for some motor help. My T-28 has stock motor and ESC is 38 amp Castle Creation Thunderbird. No crash and good flight yesterday and now motor has about half power max. Have old motor and same thing. Reprogrammed ESC no help. Any ideas on problem or how to diagnose it. Do I need new ESC? How would I know?

try a different ESC.. and you will see. if still.. then the motor is the problem

CG Measurement


What is the proper CG and where is it measured from on the leading edge?
Parkzone says 2.5" back when measured against the fuse, but is that in a straight line or following the curvature?
If I move 4" out onto the wing what should the CG be?
I assume the plane should be inverted when checking CG.

Power-15, 11x7. Yes. Clocked at 88 with calm and on the straight & level both directions. Flybud's 28 we clocked at 109. Different setup.

Those are some extremely impressive numbers...EDFs have a hard time beating that...

Rough day at the park. The T was flying full throttle inverted and snagged the tail, switchback clipped a tree and I held the striker to long in an inverted flat spin.

We've all been there...perhaps not quite to that level of absolute detruction, but we've all been there...

On the bright side, I suppose this opens the door to finding new aircraft under the tree..

In a straight line. (But there wouldn't be very much difference)

The CG will be the same. The distance back from the leading edge at 4" out, to the balance point will be different, of course, but that will be easy for you to measure with a couple of rulers.

Anyone know the diameter of the pushrods on the T-28? I want to order some more to put flaps on mine and would like to use the same size rod that's already on it, I just don't have any calipers to measure it. Also what is a good size of carbon fiber rod to use to reinforce the wing? I'm switching over to a 4s setup and want to keep the wings from folding.

Yes.

I think in the old manual the CG was 1" out from the fuse, then 2.5" back. This got it last the little return that is on the front of the wing.
