Hey guys,

Refinished my old worn out Trojan. Had it since '08 and decided to give her an overhaul. Believe it or not, it's only cosmetic - still flying on all original equipment! Stock motor, ESC, servos, every piece of the airframe. I have burned through my Parkzone battery's cycle life though, and moved on to G Force 1800s.

Thought you guys might like to check it out, I also did a little mini how to on my blog.

Thanks guys! I love the way the aluminum finish came out. It's not perfect, but when it comes cruising by at a scale half throttle and into a slow roll it really is convincing seeing the sun glint off the plane!

so I finally got my watt meter from HK so i figured I would post my results:
All test were done at sea level

Motor: E-Flite Power 10
ESC: Turnigy Plush 60A Timing Low
Battery: Tunigy 30C 2200mah battery that was 90% full

Props:

9.5x7.5 380W @ 34A
9x9 385W @ 35A
10x7 369W @ 32A
10x10 470W @ 42A

I have a 11x7 that I need to test out.

It really surprised me that the 9x9 was so close to the stock T-28 prop and that the 10x10 was pumping 470W @ 42A

That is a lot of power.

I have a Turnigy SK 35-36 1400KV motor coming that I plan on testing out and then probably using in a PK P-51 that I am going to build, since the 3536 is going to be lighter than the Power 10.

I decided to do a straight cut for my flaps and us nylon hinges on the bottom of the flap. It looks cleaner on the top of the wing and provides more travel for the flaps since I can mount the control horn closer to the edge of the flap. I added a servo slower to the flaps and will probably cut them into my real wing (not my old beat up one) over the next week.

Then it will be time to install my retracts (which got here today from HK as well)

That was one awesome looking T28. I have allot of silver on mine too, and yeah man, feals great to see the sun glint off it. Well done! I really like the way the silver came out, looks allmost polished .

Ps a question about props:
I took a 10x6 prop for my Power 15, but someone told me it is a nitro/fuel prop as it is thick and hard. And that those thin flimsy props are electric props.
Will the nitro prop damage my settup in anyway? I took the thick prop since they don't break that fast.

I can fix it.

Totally Awsome T-28!

I just finished a flying wing from crashtesthobby.com and it included a large roll of clear laminate that is sticky but still irons on. Paint adhears to it very well. I think it would lend itself to this purpose really well. Check it out. And tell Lee I said, "Hi."

Nope new fuselage for you.

I have reinforced my firewall with hot glue behind it and it seems to do well.

You might be able to rebuild it with plywood
