It's just that - while the 75 is a nice size fan - you need to run 3S at 60 amps!! or 4S. When the 55's can run a 3S or 4S in a 2100 size. Makes it cheaper! Maybe easier too as lots of people have this very popular size of lipo.

If you were going to run two fan units, wouldn't you do 2 EDF64s, like the F-15 and -262? Why would you go smaller?

I think that if they can make it run efficiently on one unit, it's better for most people, and I'm sure you guys won't have too much trouble adapting two units... the sound of twins is cool

Also, to power this thing well, you'd have to run twice the thrust of an EF-16, so you're still talking 50-60 amps... it's not going to fly on a couple of 15 amp 55s like the A-10 will.

I think they're on the right track with this one. Keep it going, Mr. Lin!
I want one!

I would expect it to be about the size of the A-4...

Personally, so would not expect GWS to mod it to suit to me, would need it to be capable of handlaunching. I fly from a park and we can not cut the grass to a length suitable for RoG and could not leave a bungee out.

I would not like the flight duration expected when pulling 60 amps

If I am wrong here I would consider it as electric otherwise I will be chucking one of a hill, quite literally

Mr. Lin,

The thing that concerns me with this model is proper exhaust ducting.
The exhaust duct on the A-4 leaves something to be desired, and in my case caused the aircraft to fly in a manner which could easily lead to a crash.
In the past, I had run across a discussion of the same issue, though it's lost in the quagmire of A-4 threads....

I would request that your R&D people put some extra thought and effort into making the ducting efficient, but also making sure that the exhaust exits properly, and does not cause any sort of vectored thrust issue.

In the A-4, a simple thrust tube solves this issue, but with twin exits on a single fan, having to make our own ducting in the F-4 would be a deterrent for many people.
I think that with this configuration it is imperative that the stock ducting works properly.

Thanks...

I hear ya bro.
I'm seriously thinking about doing a GWS 262 with Hyperion Y22s 6000kv motors in Microfans. Really scale looking nacelles too.

GWS, is there any chance that this plane might have some provision to make retracts easy out of the box?

There is posted elsewhere a photo of a competitors version that is coming out soon. No names no packdrill. Just hope it does not stop me getting a slope flying F4 from GWS

Yeah I've seen it, I don't like the way that the servo push rods for the elevators run down the outside of the turtle back.

lots of new F-4s to choose from (once they're actually released, that is) -
GWS, E-DO, Kyosho, and maybe Starmax-Tech. Kind of funny how there hasn't been any F-4's of the affordable, foamy type, and now 4 come out at approximately the same size.

Looks to me that GWS will have the biggest and prob. the best value. I also bet none of the others will be available without power systems and othe bad gear.

I'm waiting GWS F4. Looks like it will be big enough to convert to twin if I want and the no-power kit is the best value.

Cheers--Stacker

The E-Do is not the same size as the GWS, is it?
Maybe I was making an assumption that the GWS would have a 30-inch wingspan like the A-4...?
Does anyone have specs on the GWS?

As for E-Do, I wouldn't mind trying out their PlugNPlay F-15 for $190 (and Free Shipping from electricturbofans.com). Their F-4 seems a bit small for me, and my F-16 fills that role. I hope the GWS one turns out well...
