Total turnout was over 80 modellers. I think Rick Graham got the message that there's more than a handful of people interested in the city making honest folks of themselves and finally relocating the modelport. Thanks everyone that made it!

BIRDS EYE VIDEOS - TOADSTOOLS & HOODOOS of UTAH
So, I have all of my FPV footage from the past few years sitting on a raid drive, and this week one of the two drives in the raid failed. I about had a heart attack! I realized it was time to get a bunch of my footage published before the unthinkable happens and I lost it all! Here's the first in a series of new videos filmed "Birds Eye Videos" style. TJ |

Some of your finest editing yet.
A little constructive criticism. It moves a little too fast in the middle of the video. I like the overall editing, but you need a section that slows down in the middle of the video, so it feels more relaxing. Take it for what it is worth On a side note: After watching this video, I realized something geologically... I figured the rushing flood waters caused the pillars, but to find them with a rock balanced on top of them (a lot of the time), it leads me to believe that the erosion process occurred from above, and was slowed by the protection of the rock that is left on top of the pillar. Strange... That means the formation of the pillars is due to rain. Thanks Tod, I enjoyed the video. -Mike |

Mike, that's right. The top rock is harder than the white sandstone underneath, so it's a result of rain being blocked by the hard rock on top. Once the capstone falls off, the pillar rapidly deteriorates.

Had the quad up yesterday to finish draining a battery.
Decided to play with a picture of my house a little in photo shop. Selective colorization and blur. |

Guys and gals
I believe you are a conscientious group and care about the beauty of Utah and our environment, I want to let you know of something that is going on right now. Air Quality. The Draper City Council will vote on a Geneva Rock requested zone change that will add 189 acres of open pit mine on the Point of The Mountain. As you may know, this area has frequently high winds and the current mining operation already contributes a lot of air pollution to the valleys both north and south of the Point. If you care about this or know others that do, we are asking for your support in saying NO to the city council in an upcoming vote on the matter. Just as we rallied against unfair rules for "drones" I am now calling on you to become involved in a subject that affects us all. We already have nearly 10000 signatures to protect this area on a change.org petition (Save Steep Mountain) and now have a facebook group where you can learn more about the toxic dust and show your support. If you want to make your voice heard,, find out more information of just follow progress, please join us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/stopgenevarock/ Thank you Adrian |

Hey All,
Well, for the moment, I need not post in fear of the stupid Three-Letter-Agency. I'm guessing this thread went quiet mainly because of that, and the surge in Drone Racing, and the loss of the original Swarm Field / Sod Farm. So, to try to get the ball rolling again, here is the raw footage of my usual workout session with my racing quad. Also, looking for anyone else who is interested in flying FPV Sailplanes; we live in the perfect area for it.

I've been flying a lot of fpv at the springville race track. I've also been doing a lot more fixed wing fpv, but I'm more into diving down mountains and canyons. Not much of gliding around though.
