Do any of you know of any good R/C clubs with fields in the Sterling Heights, MI (north of Detroit) area? Any good R/C airplane hobby shops around there?

Scott, thanks! That's about five and a half miles from where they're moving my "day job" to. I suspect I'm going to get very familiar with that route.

Their site has a "local clubs" page, but there's nothing on it. Does anyone know of any clubs north of Detroit? I'm thinking about finding someplace to live up in the Romeo, MI area.

Google :

Greater Detroit Soaring Hiking Society

We lived in Romeo for 15 years, the flying field is due west of Romeo just a few miles. Romeo - Rochester (home of Madonna) is a great area. Visit Stony Creek Park. Real estate Taxes are high.

70'S here tomorrow. I think 30's for tomorrow night, then right back up. Problem is even right now at 8:00 PM the humidity is way up. Where I am we seldom get many days below 40, when it does it usually rains. Wet and cold don't work well for me.

70's all week for us out here on the west coast! Maybe even some 80's sprinkled in too! Yesterday and today were great flying, cool in the am. and warm in the afternoon with good thermals everywhere. Will be back out tomorrow for some more. Oh yeah, not humidity.... Enjoy it however you can I say. Happy flying!

70s here as well lately. If you're passing out from heat stroke Sean... Cut back on the cervesas during the heat as they just dry your system out.

Of course this is the time of year that I used to go out to the desert to go flying. Nothing beats chasing a sailplane across the sand in a dune buggy. Man I'm really starting to miss being out west. No Tornados, hurricanes, or high humidity to deal with. Just an occasional earthquake that's over in no time.

It's crossed my mind. The industrial quarter of Detroit was definitely not my preference. However, it wasn't my call.

I have a running Newsletter on my web site and my web master has just added two new points of interest ... An AlES pilot that has discovered an added feature of the control limiter when your plane has landed out of sight in a woods or corn field for example and from another conbributor, a Big Time approach to Night Flying.

Take a peek ...
