Hey Juscuz,

Here's a link to Top Flite's site that has a lot of covering tips:

http://www.monokote.com/monoinst1.html

Also, there is a book out there somewhere, maybe a Harry Higley publication? I'll see if I can find it.

Hi Juscuz,
thats a fine looking job all the same, all the best with trimming and flying, let us know what you think of it. I've never flown the old OlyII.

Dusting the wings of my woodie birds today for some fine cool weather bubble hunting, I'm trying a new field. This field is populated by a gaggle of camels! 12 of them on 23 acres of flat ground. These camels serve for tourist camel rides on a local beach, so I'm hoping they won't find my activities to much of a curiosity if they are used to people. Does anyone know, do camels have a liking for the smell and taste of balsa?

Not sure but I've heard they love the taste of Australians.

Thanks for the link Sean. I actually have Harry Higley's book "There Are No Secrets", but it didn't help me with the finer details such as the small wrinkles I can't smooth out.
I also got the 'puffies' on one side of my vertical stab. I guess I can try some pinholes to let air escape, then try to re-shrink.

Its official, I can now report that camels will generally have an aversion to woody rc sailplanes, they is easily spooked creatures.

Sadly, your model aircraft will not have a sense of selectivity about the exact spot where they might land, and may fail to decipher good ground from gunky dung in a landing zone. Thank you Don, your mirthly concerns were realised when my 2m Lil Bird dunked its snout into a fetid pile of flyblown camel rose. I would have gone and chosen white film for its fuse- camel crap stains something awful.

Not happy Jan. The field now has the working title of 'Old Camel Crap' with RC soarers.

Good day of flying but.

Steve... you could have landed in any other part of the field and still come out smelling the same so don't feel too bad. You can blame my Uncle Murphy (the writer of the laws) for your smelly mishap.

Murphys' law #1. Anything that can go wrong will and usually at the least opportune moment.

That one had to be a soft landing! I couldn't stop laughing and thinking in my mind how that spot landing would be scored.

LOL!!!!!!!!!
