BD-5 on Display at French Valley Airport

I went to the French Valley Airport near my parents house in Temecula, CA to have breakfast at their nice little cafe. Good food, lots of planes, and a cool BD-5 parked out front (on a stick). I've seen models bigger than this...

I got to see one up close in 1987,it was one of the coors light demonstration teams one... dont tell anybody but i lifted it up by the nose.. really small and light . The best part was seeing it do 300mph passes maybe 10 feet or so over the runway . Theres only a handful of them flying and even less with jet power. Awesome little plane though .

I'm note sure if this company is still operating anymore, but the link is still active. They were modernizing Jim Bede's design.

Here's one still in construction mode by Ken Fowler. It's going to be powered by a cruise missle motor.

I love BD-5J's. My dad owned one of the ones used in the James Bond movie Octopussy when it was still in kit form.
(there were two used in the movie, the one with the folding wings that didn't fly, and the one that actually flew)

That's pretty funny!

I also saw the Bud Light Silver Bullet at the El Toro Air Show years ago. That was an impressive airplane to watch.
