SAD news at S.E.F.F.

Hey Folks,
On Saturday afternoon/evening some friends and I noticed a plume a black smoke out beyond the trees past the helicopter end of the field. I immediately thought "that's a plane crash" since it was in the direction of the airport and it was a single plume of black smoke. Didn't think anything more of it until today when my brother found this link:

3 attendees departing for home after S.E.F.F. died in the crash. 1 is yet to be identified the other 2 are being withheld until next of kin are notified. Please say a prayer for them and their families.

Their tarps and tent was next to mine. I got to know them, fly with them, joke, laugh, and now their gone. This weekend won't be as great as it could have been for me as I have lost some new friends.......

Darrell was a member of the Alabaster R/C Association in Alabaster, AL and headed up our instructor program. I also knew Ryan and had met Brian a couple of times.

It is indeed a sad and tragic time.

This is very sad news. I was at SEFF with my two daughters on Sat. We flew into Americus about 9:00am in the yellow bonanza and departed about 11:30am to stay ahead of the front. I appreciated the fine folks at Hodges Hobbies for the van ride. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

Ryan Jones

I met Ryan Jones last week while on business in Tuscaloosa Alabama. I had the pleasure of flying with Ryan for two afternoons. Ryan loved RC and 3D flying. He was a soft spoken, enthusiastic young man. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

Sad when such good people are taken so young.
